The Good Shepherd- 03/06/2022 - Audio
06/03/2022 Duración: 21minHow we perceive someone often determines our attitude and treatment towards that person. Many of us see Jesus as God, but is he more than just someone we ask stuff from, give thanks to before we eat, or celebrate only when Christmas comes around? Jesus is not one dimensional. Not just print on a Bible page, but much more. John 10:11 Jesus declared, "I am the good shepherd." Does this mean anything to you? Applying CLC's mission statement to Psalm 23 , using the characteristics of a good shepherd: 1. Loving God is a daily, everyday relationship (v.1-4) 2. Loving People includes necessary hospitality (v.5) 3. Serving the World must lead to inviting others to come live in the Lord's house forever (v.6). Jesus cannot be an afterthought, but a vital part of our lives. Jesus the Good Shepherd is a daily, necessary, "cleanser".

Let it Go and Let Him in! - Audio
27/02/2022 Duración: 42min"A crust eaten in peace is better than a banquet partaken in anxiety" Aesop...Nevertheless, we worry and fret and agonize. In fact, human beings are the only one of God's creation that are anxious and become overly concerned. As we conclude in our sermon series, "Upside Down" living. .Jesus illustrates why worrying is Unreasonable, Unnatural, Unhealthy, and Unnecessary. And teaches us to, 'Never worry about anything by seeking the Kingdom of God" One way to conquer a passion is by focusing on a greater passion. Focusing on earthly matters like riches and basic needs will always breed worry and anxiety but focusing on eternal matters delivers us from those worries and bring God's peace. So, would you join me this morning as Jesus command us, "Do not worry about anything!"

A Better Story: Jesus, Money, and a Generous Heart - Audio
13/02/2022 Duración: 34minIn the sermon on the mount, Jesus correlates our treasure and hearts. He says straightforward “You can’t serve both God and money". Money is a terrible master that will deaden our relationship with God. God’s plan is always been for His people to be hold money in a generous way. This is the path to a close walk with the our heavenly father and a much better life story.

Doing the Unthinkable - Audio
06/02/2022 Duración: 28minA harsh perspective about life goes like this: "Life is hard, then you die." In our lifetime there's enough ordinary challenges that keep us struggling. You would think not doing unusual and extraordinary things would be justified and okay. But in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us exactly that, to go beyond the norm. In Matthew 5:38-48 Jesus gives us 3 unthinkables: 1. Service, not vengeance (v.39-42) 2. Love your enemy as your neighbor (v.44-47) 3. Be perfect in love (v.48) Challenge: In love Jesus did the unthinkable for us, so can we do unthinkables for him?

Jan 16, 2022 Worship Service - Audio
16/01/2022 Duración: 01h21minCommunity Life - Denny Lai #weareclc - Gordon Wang Speaker - Pastor Calvin Yim "Thunk It, Done It!" Don't Murder! Realistically not many of us will ever disobey this command, but Jesus takes this to another level, telling us to be mindful of the spirit of the law and not the letter of the law. To be self-aware of how we handle our anger specifically. That to think evil thoughts about someone, we have in some degree committed a crime against the other person. Instead Jesus calls us to be peacemakers in our relationships, be a uniter and not a divider. From our passage Jesus tells us: 1. Anger is the same as murder, and subject to judgment. 2. Have self-awareness in our relationships. Do we unite or do we divide? 3. Pursue Shalom (peace) in our community and world by serving others. Challenge: Being a peacemaker will be distinctive for the world to see, and for you to experience a more full and joyful well-being.

Christmas Eve Service 12/24/2021 - Audio
24/12/2021 Duración: 51minImagine becoming a father for the first time. All the nervousness, worries and insecurities. Well Joseph was probably like that, and on top of that, throw in the stigma of having a child out of wedlock. Plus being poor, Joseph could not even have his wife Mary give birth in a decent place other than a dirty manger meant for feeding animals. No one in this world welcomed Joseph and his pregnant wife who was about to give birth. Yet into this simple beginning, God chose to send his son to earth. Jesus indeed was born in Bethlehem in a manger because there was no room at the inn. Will people now welcome him into their homes? More importantly will you invite Jesus into your life?

A Very Special Gift - 12/12/2021 - Audio
12/12/2021 Duración: 37minThis is the time of the years where we might be thinking, gifts, "Oh, it's a pain!" I have to give a gift to somebody. The Wise Men came bearing three gifts - gold, frankincense, and myrrh. These gifts were monetary and physical gifts. Their value is only good on this earth. But the gift, "A very special gift" given through Jesus Christ is monumental, revolutionary. A spiritual gift that is valuable in the court of heaven in time as well as in eternity. The wise men gifts were costly, expensive but it didn't cost them everything. Ahh. but this gift. A very special gift cost God everything. You see God left heaven and came to this earth and he humbled himself to be born in a manger and He poured himself out so that we could have eternal life. And in today's message we are going to unbox a gift that God gave. A reflection of His love and generosity. "For God so loved.....that He gave....."

God Loves the Simple - Audio
05/12/2021 Duración: 29minThere's something special about being simple. God seems to favor those who are. Like the shepherds. How may we see the shepherds as simple? The shepherds were: 1. Humble in occupation and lifestyle, 2. Spiritually Hungry to see Truth told to them without hesitation or doubt, and when they saw their Savior, 3. Honored God with their praise in response. Conclusion: Because Jesus came, the ending to our life stories (like the shepherds in Luke 2) is changed forever. That is hope that we all need.
