We Express It So Little - Audio
29/11/2021 Duración: 38minIn a picture perfect world, there are no let downs or discouragements. But we know this doesn't happen in real life. And that's why the Psalmist shouts out the secret of contentment in Ps.16:11 -" You have made known to me the path of life; and it was you that filled me with JOY when I was in your presence; with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Now, could it be that spiritual maturity is measured by what it takes to steal our JOY? I mean spiritual maturity is measured by what it takes to rob us of our joy. So then ask yourself, “How easily is my JOY taken away..and by what?” You see JOY and Happiness are different. Happiness depends on certain happenings while JOY is pervasive, it's deeper and constant. And in today's message, we are going to see how Apostle Paul was so joyous even though his circumstance wasn't so picturesque. The ART of JOY, one of the attitude that we express so little!

Moved By Compassion - Audio
21/11/2021 Duración: 41minAs followers of Jesus, we are invited to live the way Jesus lived, following in his steps, bringing a taste of the kingdom of heaven to earth in the places we live and work. Jesus was often moved with compassion when he encountered people in need. His compassion always moved him to action, and he stepped into the stories of hurting people and offered them healing, hope, and love. You are invited to be like him in this. Join us as Christine Ingebretson of Foster the City shares an inspiring message inviting you to consider how you might get engaged in loving and welcoming some of the most vulnerable neighbors in our community, precious kids and teens who find themselves in foster care.

Forever Foreigner - Audio
07/11/2021 Duración: 33minThe Forever Foreigner stereotype has been a racist/xenophobic label that has been placed on many minority groups in this country by the majority for centuries, even if minority families have lived in this country for generations. Unfortunately Christians are not excused from having this bias against those they perceive as foreigners. That’s why the church has come to be known as the most segregated place on Sundays for a variety of reasons, some good and some bad. Contrary to the world’s way, if you are a foreigner or know foreigners, be encouraged that God has a special place in his heart for you. Because 1. God cares for the foreigner. (Lev 19:33-34) 2. God defends the foreigner. (Deut 27:19) 3. God wants us to be foreigners. (John 15:19). Take home idea: As followers of Jesus Christ, we are forever foreigners. Embrace that identity as good news. Interview with Russell Jeung: co-founder of #StopAAPIHate, author, professor of Asian American Ethnic Studies at CSUSF, and was recently vot

Come, Sit at the Table (Need to Belong) - Audio
25/10/2021 Duración: 29minKing David showed tremendous kindness and hospitality to Saul's grandson Mephibosheth, who was crippled in both legs. Mephibosheth was also his best friend Jonathan's son. David demonstrated God's love in 3 ways: 1. Love that extends to even a friend of a friend (Jonathan), for the sake of that friend (v.1) 2. Kindness that brings extravagant generosity (v.7) 3.Restores and Gives a new identity, in the King's family = Eat at the table like a son (v. 11). How do you respond to God's invitation to come to his table? Are you grateful for God's love that he considers you his son or daughter? Who can you show kindness to as a friend of a friend, for the sake of Jesus?

Have You Eaten yet? - Audio
19/09/2021 Duración: 15minFood is a tangible way to love people. Even Jesus, early in his ministry, fed the 5000. In this John 21 passage, Jesus showed his love for his disciples, providing a fire, food, and fellowship (like here at the church picnic). Even though Peter had denied him 3 times when Jesus was arrested, Jesus still loved Peter, serving him breakfast (hospitality). Jesus reminded Peter of his first calling to be a fisher of men, and restored him. Our challenge: Do you love Jesus? Then do as Jesus did, and ask others, "Have you eaten yet?" 1 John 4:19: "We love because He loved us first ."

3:16 The Number of Love - Audio
12/09/2021 Duración: 40minSomeone once said, "Gases and Love" can't be contained. You gotta let it out!. One of the most picturesque moment where God's Love is shown is when the Prodigal Father runs to his son cuz Mercy flows from compassion. When our heart is full of compassion we are moved to help the needy, to love the unlovely, to be gracious to the unworthy. Compassion gives us feet. And today, Jesus paints us a picture of God, being so full of compassion for His erring children, that He runs toward us when we make any movement toward Him.

3:16 - Number of Hope - Audio
06/09/2021 Duración: 37minIn our new sermon series, "Come and See!" we want to navigate through the Scripture as Jesus himself invites his people to know who He is by giving them HOPE! He offers the most personal invitation to humanity – which is Himself. And Jesus did not turn crowds and individuals away. Far from being the life and soul of the party, Jesus was interested in those He came into contact with by meeting our deepest longings of the human heart and the darkest struggles that we confront. So, as Jesus invited....we are inviting all of you to Come and See what He continues to do, today!
