Greg Dougherty rode from Miami to New York to celebrate the Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima……..in a row boat! He had never rowed that far solo before. The trip was a lesson in fortitude as Greg faced adversity head on throughout his trip. Evangelizing the world in the times of the Apostles was no easy task. Apostles traveled a lot of mileage and they didn’t have the convenience of a Harley Davidson motorcycle to do so.  If an Apostle wanted to go some great distance they had to get on a cargo ship and take a dangerous voyage. The food would be wretched and the sanitary conditions had much to be desired. By taking on this mission of evangelizing the world they were taking on a lot of risk. The Lord has this gift called the expansion of time. He will provide you with the time to do it all. If you’re not getting up in time to spend an hour with the Lord you have wasted a day. Without the Lord, you make so many mistakes because you’re not hearing his voice. Your day is muddled, you’re not moving in his power, you’re not moving in his order, you’re missing your divine appointments that day, you’re busy, busy, busy. People think it’s not productive to pray but it’s the most productive part of your day. Don’t be afraid to “waste time” with the Lord. Just sit and be with Him. This is hard for men but we need him to strengthen us and that is not wasted time at all!

Bear Woznick and Long Ride Home cast member Dan’l Markham talk story about the thrill, grit, and obstacles they encountered during the filming of Season One. Holy Spirit moments and opportunities to share the Gospel popped up left and right throughout filming that proved sometimes you just have to let go and let God.

In our times, we are so connected in every technological way but so disconnected in any inter-personal way. Jeff Cavins is a teacher, evangelist, and a biker. He and Bear discuss being situationally aware and looking for opportunities to evangelize. On vacation, in the office, at the gas station, at restaurants, down the street with your neighbor, on a three thousand mile bike ride......every moment that God gives you is an opportunity to be a witness to Christ. Ask yourself, would Jesus ignore this situation? You are the body of Christ. You have to have some courage to get out of the boat and walk on water. THAT is the great adventure.

Have you ever had this desire to go for a hike? Kevin Greaney did. He went for a little stroll on the famous Camino de Santiago and what he found on that journey was a DEEP relationship with Christ. His hike ended, his personal physical goal was reached, but his Catholic faith continues to grow to this day. Kevin serves as the Mission and Adventures Director for Creatio.org and this week he and Bear talk story about finding faith in the unexpected.

Bob “Ace” Bagley is the President of the national Knights of Columbus group “Knights on Bikes”. When Bob started riding bikes he found a brotherhood but he just felt that something was missing. Bob rationalized that with all the things he had done in his youth, that God had turned his back on him. All that changed after he appeared in court and after a two week wait he called to find out the decision. To his amazement they had no record of him ever appearing there. To him it was a sign of God reaching down and picking him up at his lowest moment. This event led to his conversion but the journey was not over, nor would it be easy. His witness story is one that must be heard.

MMA and UFC World Champion fighter, Bas Rutten, is as intense as a grizzly bear about his sport and about his faith. It takes discipline to become a successful athlete. How does that translate to one’s faith? How can an athlete take the practices they incorporate in training and maintaining physical fitness and then apply them to their spiritual life? Bas Rutten calls this a habit and when you have a bad habit you switch it to a good habit. The same applies to our faith. You don’t have time in your schedule for faith? Make time, make it a habit. Long Ride Home cast member Lance "Doc" Maki was our wilderness doctor during the filming of both Seasons One and Two of Long Ride Home. He is a trained doctor and a necessary component of our Long Ride Home pack. Bear and Doc talk about the adversity faced during filming and the positives that came from their trials. The Holy Spirit caused each of the men on the ride to trust and know that God was there within their midst. Men need a test, they need to be challenged and called out. We are all called to be heroes and Jesus Christ is our greatest example of a hero. Tune in and learn how to be hero to those in your life.

Long Ride Home cast member Grady Dyke fills the role of tail gunner during the cross-country filming of Long Ride Home. He was the glue that kept the pack of riders together and on schedule. Bear and Grady discuss how each cast member began to reveal themselves and their gifts during the filming of Long Ride Home . Those gifts became apparent and began to gel together as the journey progressed. As Saint Paul said, each component of the Body has their place, and not one is more superior than the other.

Tony Orband won the “cool hand Luke” award of the crew. He was calm, cool and helped everyone stay sane during the shooting of Long Ride Home Seasons One and Two. Tony and Bear talk about the adversities and adventure of Long Ride Home. Bear and Tony discuss the importance of having male friendships that build us up to be better men. Friendship, accountability, and growth in the virtues are all positive results men can experience with the help of others.

Long Ride Home Season Two cast member John Prejean and Bear first met by chance during the filming of Season One. John is going through the diaconate formation but he wasn't always planning on this.  John tells Bear about his reversion story from "Catholic in name only" to a man on fire for Jesus. It's a revealing story about how John handed his life over to the Lord through total surrender to His will.
