S02e27 features Markings back as co-host as he and Mike welcome writer / artist / media personality Lex Garcia to the Lasers podcast! They kick things off by talking how Lex and Markings met and then examine latinos deciphering latinos and what role race plays in hispanic households. Mike wonders how the rest of Latin America views Brasil, they discuss the glory of Guatemala and talk fighting as kids and a little bit adults too. They hit Top of the Hour to answer some questions, discuss it being your own people and then growing up latino. Lex recalls an evening with Coeur de Pirate and mispronounces Dutty Rock for everyone’s enjoyment, they talk slang, and disagree a little on Junot Diaz. Lex Garcia shares his reasoning behind living sober, Markings tells a sax story and Mike shares some wisdom on psychedelics. S02e26 welcomes Jay and KC back to the show to investigate the new graffiti that’s suddenly appeared on the studio door and also make jokes in between. They kick off by bemoaning the end of Summer, examining their carbon footprint and talking possible pivots in podcasting that they could explore. Things start to get serious in their deep dive into the graffiti - ie numerology gets thrown around - while Jay and Mike defend sex work and the Lasers explore backtracking on technology. They talk curating and what goes into the vintage clothing business, tell a story of how KC saw Jay’s privates and hit Top of the Hour for question time. They get deep into their theories on the door doodles and start to connect the dots before exploring the artist lifestyle and whether the abdication of duties is a necessary evil or a convenient perk. Jay brings up The Combat Jack Show and the drama between the hosts before they talk wearing lady clothes and the untimely passing of Zombie Boy who was a neighbour to the studio. They discuss malls dying, a day in the life of Mark Zuckerberg were he Jay and the future of ageing. S02e24 features our favorite guest co-host Markings as the podcast welcomes Montreal creative director Miro LaFlaga to the show!! They kick things off by talking KREAM (kids run everything around me) and Montreal being a creative hub before getting serious about art and commerce and whether the twain shall meet. The crew discusses economics in underserved communities, Miro breaks down his take on branding, and Markings talks the importance of sharing information. Miro gives us some background on his journey and insight into managing your socials and then talks being professional in creative fields. They debate whether one can indeed ‘rassle with other people’s kids, Jay expounds on sweatpants and gives TMI on his privates. He shares a little insight into a project he’s working on and then into his penis off drugs before Mike talks Prince’s body of work. They hit Top of the Hour and play classic musician charades while talking different types of foods and assuming that Jay’s is under-seasoned. Mike makes peace with his life’s choices, Jay holds hands with a stranger and they talk masturbation interrupted before KC and Mike dash Jay’s hopes of landing a job on CBC. S02e22 features Markings back as co-host as he and Mike welcome Stephen Malhotra aka Punjabi Playboy aka PJPB aka PJ aka Double P aka Spook One to the podcast! They kick things off by getting to know PJ as Mike calls him a little before talking Drake’s influence and beigeness. Moving forward Markings and Spook play Mike’s Hot Take Invitational (First Annual) where they hot take against one another while Mike arbitrates before they talk whether charisma is king in rap and hit Top of the Hour and answer some questions. The gang discusses the Montreal music scene, who’s popping out here and then the problems inherent to art in Quebec before Double P starts his self-portrait and gets deep about his content. Mike and PJPB recall an internet incident they once had over some of PJPB’s work, Markings spills tea about blocked opportunities for Montreal rap radio and Spook shares his major daily needs. S02e21 gets personal yall! The episode opens with Mike sharing an opportunity for growth before he and Jay discuss processes in music since going solo and sober and Kanye’s latest musical offerings. They talk instruments, personas and why one might want one before Jay shares what rehab might teach him and trusting the process. They talk melancholy and then mental health and Jay’s process in addressing his before hitting Top of the Hour and answering some questions. Mike gives us some insight into what makes him sad, they talk things taking tolls, and Mike draws a pretty great analogy as to Jay’s reticence on social media. Jay hatches a bad plan for meeting girls in his building before sharing that he’s back with his lady oops and they workshop a podcast host to replace Akil. Things kick off with talk of Rico Nasty and reversal of gender roles, modern dating and dating pros before Mike reveals that he cried all morning, J.u.D. reveals that he’s on a streak of a certain kind and Markings reveals his nightmare. Episode 19, Rehabitation, kicks off with talk of the virtues of country living and then the virtues of escaping it when it’s trying to kill you. Mike and Jay talk actors-cum-musicians and vice versa, men’s accoutrements for anti-ageing and the double-standard when it comes to men and women getting older. They talk Dutch atrocities, whether Jay being an awful fisherman = failed masculinity and baseball cards before Top of the Hour kicks in and they get serious about R Kelly and personal issues. Jay gives us a lil rundown of what he’s got going on, they talk Boogie Cousin’s controversial decision and Mike brings in Marc Maron to support his disdain for kiddie culture. Mike and Jay get real-ish about addiction and what lies beneath, talk right-wing warriors, keeping sex stuff out of the studio and then just sex stuff. Everyone realizes that they have a guru, who they then pit against the other gurus in a spiritual freestyle battle over beats and KOLA shares his journey to positivity while Jay shares his journey to a possible but unlikely marketing gig. They cover Top of the Hour and answer deep stuff before weighing the pros and cons of working on the ocean and talking the relevance of the past to the present. Mike swears he has issues, Jay talks removing himself from a party and KOLA talks being a popular Montreal busker - good, bad and ugly. To close out the Lasers discuss the toll of emotional exhaustion and Jay tells a weird story about a dep-spute (dispute at a dep*) before KOLA performs a song.

Episode 14 kicks off with a return to some of the issues that the Lasers started unraveling in episode 13, namely Jay’s relationship stuff. They play a lil association game that is to games what peels are to bananas and then delve deeper into the drama surrounding Jay’s life. Conversation kicks off with talk of North vs South Carolina before the Lasers make Nick draw a self portrait and they get esoteric about art and life. Nick talks discovering new music and his passion for that stuff, ranks his best qualities and then breaks down some theories for the Lasers. They discuss emerging Canadian talent and the senseless attack levied against IX Daily before hitting “Top of the Hour” for some in-depth - trivia, is it? They play “Weird or Wavy” where they qualify increasingly bizarre things/concepts as either weird or wavy and Mike talks about his new fern while Jay makes a hose/hoes joke. The episode opens with the self-portrait game, where the guest is expected to draw himself and answer serious questions, before the gang discusses why certain people troll so hard, involuntary celibacy being bonkers, and making friends as adults. They talk music - who sucks with autotune, the problems with Drake, letting go of artists and tracking down Lord Have Mercy, before moving on to the myth(?) that making art is therapy. The group plays Top of the Hour where Jay get political-ish, Mike gets to finally discuss his zombie plan and Son Raw talks his feelings for various Daves. In episode 10 (already!) of season 2 the Lasers welcome the hosts of the Up for Discussion podcast Tom and Kate for a pretty funny time. Conversation kicks off with talk of social media and its role in meeting significant others before moving to biotech and its role in the Biotech Olympics. They play a game where Tom and Kate workshop names for fictional characters that the Lasers developed and then discuss dads. They examine the flimsy phenomenon of signatures before kicking off Top of the Hour and answering some serious questions. They talk about traffic induced grumpies, microwaves as old technology, guinea pigs (Tom’s more specifically) and Jay ruining hot tubs. They play a game where they rank various bears in honour of Up for Discussion’s logo before Tom pitches a time consuming podcast idea and they close out with talk of marijuana and inevitably getting too high.

Episode 9 of season 2 welcomes the hosts of the Don’t Be Mad podcast, so it’s kind of like (podcast) squared. They start off by talking fraternities, where the Don’t Be Mad guys school the Lasers on university life, and the group picks sides on using coasters and Jay shares a sad(?) story that involves sex and christmas. They discuss sexual proclivities, expanding personal horizons, and then the unfortunate turn of events that is Bill Cosby. The Lasers introduce a new game, Top of the Hour, where everyone picks a random question and gives their best reply and they explore real and imagined hurdles to beach resorts. The group breaks NDG down into parts and the Don’t Be Mad dudes share their hopes and dreams for their platform and teach the Lasers about anime. They close out by discussing cartoon sex, naturally.

Season 2, episode 8 brings bff of the show KC back into the mix! They start off with talk of Karl Malone, the Utah Jazz and then inevitably Mormons, before examining the Hot Boyz and questionable behaviour on the part of Baby. They discuss antiquated ideas of man code, having professional security and then general metro security and whether Jay offended someone’s dad at a party. Jay recalls a rapper who got got by ODB’s son, KC talks botoxing babies and Mike explains what a cherub is before conversation devolves entirely. Sexual preference comes up, Mike equates Dr Phil and his wife to Busta and Spliff Star looool and they discuss going viral. Jay and KC workshop Kanye rants but about Ernie Hudson from GhostBusters and KC gets political. To close out, they compare and contrast historical “geniuses”.
