It's been almost 2 years since I put the last episode up. Spending time with my little boy and wife was too important. I think he'll be happy I'm back in it. Here's one that starts off dark and mellow, but takes off into a smooth rolling vibe with great basslines. It's got dramatic moments, but mainly it keeps running smoothly the whole way through. This is a sort of nod to the two DJs who have had the most influence on me over the past decade – Sasha and John Digweed. Most of these songs have been produced by, released by, or spun by these two, with a few selections of my own tossed in that I think they would approve of. Their style is consistently on the cutting edge of the electronic dance music scene, but without losing sight on tracks that are highly listenable and sometimes dramatic. Hope you enjoy it.

Imagine you are on an island off the coast of Spain, wandering down a beach at sunset. You stumble upon a bar on the beach and a DJ begins his set as the sun goes down. Funky, dark, and sweaty with a touch of bliss.

CLASSICS :: 1997-2005 Anyone who was in the rave or club scene from 1997-2005 will absolutely find something in here for them. Hopefully some of these will hit you the way they have me. If you were never a part of that scene, try to imagine a subculture movement that has been compared to the hippy revolution of the sixties. This mix is a tribute to those crazy times. My criteria? It's totally personal. Epic parties, epic clubs, great friends, great memories. Some of these songs transcended the genre, some were from dj mixes that moved me, some are meticulously produced, but all of them have some incredible memory attached to them. Underworld, Oakenfold, Sasha, PVD, U2, Junkie XL, Radiohead, Oliver Lieb, The Crystal Method, Sandra Collins, Solar Stone, BT, Ferry Corsten, Robbie Rivera, Felix Da Housecat, Timo Mass, Hybrid, and Moby are all a part of this mix. They had a huge impact on the electronic movement. This mix is pretty intense and captures the turn of the century electronic music vibe pretty well

MYSTERIOUS :: FUNKY :: HAUNTING :: BEAUTIFUL – The majority of the songs in this episode are blended rather than mixed. Many of them don't begin or end with beats, so they tend to melt into each other. I like that organic feeling in a chill out. As the mix progresses, the tunes become more beat driven. I am a beat junkie and I have a weakness for slow buildups, so it does get a bit more heady in the end. I love this mix for when I'm in a quieter state, or when I'm wearing my business socks. Hope you like it.

This is a mix I did back in the spring of 2005. It starts with upbeat progressive and ends with very intense techno. It has a darker side to it, reflecting on the end of a residency I had at a club in San Diego.

This is the third in a series of mixes I did for my brother-in-law. He's been a good fan and a hard one to impress. I gave him a list of tunes for this episode, and he arranged them in the order he wanted before I mixed them. It was a fun experiment, and I think it turned out pretty killer. It's intense and a little dark. Very progressive with a couple of trance upswings. Thanks for listening!

This episode goes out to my good brother KB (and to my cat Bailey, who passed away today). The two were very connected. I'm very proud of this episode, as it was something that I was hesitant to do at first. I thought it would be difficult to find enough straight trance that I liked enough to showcase in an entire episode. A lot of hours/days were put into this selection, and many songs were tossed getting here. In the end, I am really stoked about this mix, and it is one of my best to date. Collidescope This episode was an experimental one for me. I layered many tracks over each other and did a significant amount of edits throughout the songs. It's dark and groovy and intense.

This mix is my favorite kind of music when I'm getting ready to go out on a Friday night.
