Its our goal to support you with encouragement and training towards the mission of serving your church well.This is a regionally focused conference designed to give you a chance to connect one-on-one with other attendees as well as our guest Worship Leaders, Pastors and workshop instructors. We want you to leave with tangible resources and meaningful relationships.

  • 2015 Workshop — Worship Band

    Finding the right parts to play, using dynamics, and having chemistry can be tough, especially with a volunteer team of musicians. Calvary Monterey’s Worship Team will be playing live and explaining how Drums, Bass, Acoustic, Electric, Keys, and Vocals can use dynamics and parts to color a song. They’ll also show how to take songs and apply them to a smaller band setting.

  • 2015 Workshop — Media In Worship

    This workshop is taught by Calvary Monterey’s Tech Director Bernhard Klingenberg. In this workshop, you will learn about different worship lyric software solutions used for projecting lyrics during a worship service, utilizing video media in a service, as well as some design concepts to help ensure teaching and media slides are engaging and effective.

  • 2015 Workshop — Acoustic Guitar

    In this acoustic guitar workshop, Tim Brown will offer up ideas regarding dynamics, technique, and chord voicing that he hopes will challenge you to continue to grow and improve as a musician and as a worship leader. Originally from a small town 30 minutes north of Los Angeles, Tim has been involved in leading worship for several churches over the past 15 years, including 6 years here at Calvary Monterey. His experience will add value to both the beginner and intermediate level musician.

    Everywhere we look we find enormous, talented worship bands with top notch musicians, live albums and concert tours.  God is using these bands in wonderful ways but we can be left feeling daunted, under qualified and discouraged with our weekly Sunday morning worship.  This is why it’s important to not just follow the trends but find how God desires to use you locally.  We will discuss how Song Selection, Song Style and Songwriting can help shape your church’s musical identity.

  • 2014 Workshop — Acoustic Guitar

    Acoustic guitar can be a powerful instrument to facilitate a worship set. At the same time, if used incorrectly it can also make for a distraction! This workshop will focus on using the acoustic guitar to connect songs through use of dynamics, strumming patterns, chord variations and chord inversions. We will also discuss the dynamics of playing acoustic in a band setting verses a solo setting. Bring your guitar!

  • 2014 Workshop — Tech Tools For An Engaging Service

    Using Technology in a worship service is a great tool to aid in the preaching of the Gospel. In this workshop we will go over some of the systems and methods that we use at Calvary to create an engaging worship service. This includes topics such as Media, Intro Videos, Graphics, Teaching Slides, Lighting, and Sound.

    Your voice is an instrument! Let’s learn how to take care of it. Worship Leader and Ocean’s Edge School of Worship graduate, Danya Collyer, will be covering basic vocal training such as proper breathing techniques, microphone placement and how to prepare and care for your voice. She will also give tips on how to lead your congregation into a true spirit of worship.
