    It has been said that Ontario's Ryan Laird learned to hum back a melody before he could speak, and that the art of creating music has always been second nature. At the age of 5, Ryan began learning piano, and received his first guitar at the age of 7 for Christmas. After studying jazz, guitar and voice at Humber College in Toronto, he packed his bags and moved his life down to Nashville with high hopes of furthering his career as a performer and songwriter at the age of 19. After a few years in Nashville, he signed his first publishing deal with Cherry Lane Music Publishing.     Hit songwriter Frank Myers wrote the 1982 crossover smash single You And I recorded by Eddie Rabbitt & Crystal Gayle.
