Listening Well To The King

People continue to come to faith once Peter miraculously heals Aeneas and Tabitha.  God continues to work supernaturally today as His people walk with Him.  Pastor Rick covers Acts 9:31-43.

The greatest thorn in the early churches flesh is SAVED.  Saul responds to God's grace and immediately begins to proclaim that Jesus was the Messiah.  Ananias obedience makes him another early church hero.  Pastor Rick covers Acts 9:1-31 in todays amazing story.

Pastor Rick covers Acts 8 and focuses on Philip.  Philip listened to the Spirit and had a most unusual Kingdom impact in Samaria, with church leadership and in Ethiopia.  Ordinary Spirit filled people make huge Kingdom impacts.

Ordinary Stephen was filled with the Spirit and made a huge impact... until he breathed his last breath.  We can learn much from Stephen.  Stephens death ushered the early church into stage two of God's evangelism plan.  Pastor Rick covered Acts 6:8-8:3.

Pastor Rick covers Acts 6:1-7 where conflict within the church is dealt with in a God honoring way.  Pastors and Elders are to focus on teaching, leading and praying... which simply means other godly leaders need to take care of ministering to flock.  Dealing with conflict well keeps the church on mission and is an amazing testimony in the neighborhood.

God sends a chilling message to the early church.  Sin and rebellion were a big deal then and are so today.  May God fill us with the Spirit so that we might boldly proclaim Jesus is the Savior.  Pastor Rick covered Acts 4:32-5:42

Pastor Rick covers Acts 4:1-31.  Peter and John get tossed in Jail and the persecution of Christians begin.  Their story ignited the church to pray for more boldness and God granted their requests.

Pastor Rick spent some time on the Axioms of the early church in Acts 2:42-47 and then challenged us to be devoted to community like the early church and be sensitive for the divine appointments that God faithfully sends our way (Acts 3)

God sends his Spirit and gives life to the body called the church!  The mission is the same as the Spirit empowers and makes us witnesses.  Pastor Rick covers Acts 2:1-41

Pastor Rick begins the new Series called UNFINISHED... a study in the book of ACTS.  He covered Acts 1:1-11 in the message to CrossPoint Church.

Pastor Rick focuses on Luke 2:1-7 where Dr. Luke gives us a few details about the birth that changed the world. The Savior has come and will have a relationship with you... if you let Him. This is still Good News.

Mary and Joseph had much faith.  In spite of their fear, they listened to God.  May we all listen to God better... especially when it doesn't make sense.  This young couple is inspiring.

God gave the greatest of all messages, the good news to a group of lowly shepherds.  The shepherds met Jesus and became the first evangelists of the good news.

Zechariah and Elizabeth give birth to John which brings great joy to all because John the Baptist is the forerunner of the Messiah.

Jonah ends with God asking Jonah a powerful question: Shouldn't I SHED TEARS for such a great city? Today, our priorities seem to be off.  God's heart is broken over the not yet redeemed... likewise, our hearts need to be broken for the lost.

Jonah is angry at God for gracing the evil Assyrians.  Jonah was not grasped by grace.  So odd for a preacher not to rejoice in the repentance of Nineveh. We all need to be grasped by grace.

Jonah listens to God, preaches His Word and the whole city repents.  God uses flawed messengers proclaiming the inspired Word of God to change our culture.

God extends grace to Jonah by having him swallowed by a great fish.  Jonah knew that salvation comes from the Lord... but after spending some time in the belly Jonah KNOWS that salvation comes from the Lord ALONE.

God extends his grace to those part of his family and those not yet redeemed.  Pastor Rick teaches from Jonah 1:7-17, a text which is an amazing Gospel text.

Jonah sinned and God sent a storm.  Storms can shipwreck us or grow us.  God uses storms in all of our lives. Pastor Rick preached this message to CrossPoint Church.
