  • #23. Mike Soltys in 'Racist Climate Change Deniers'

    11/12/2016 Duración: 01h32min

DEEKAST #23 Mike Soltys (@Darminian) returns to the Deekast to talk some PC gaming, Hideo Kojima, white privilege, feminism, racism, when anti-racism becomes racism, weed legalization, Trudeau, and other stuff we barely know about. Why is it a coincidence that people who want less guns are seemingly pro-choice. Why are people who deny climate change's impacts called racist often, because of their views on immigration. Why do we lump all climate change denial into one camp of 'idiocy'. Are there arguments to be made on the severity of climate change, or how much is man-made, or how imminent the problem is? Why does Al Gore own an ocean-side mansion and fly a private jet? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/deekast/support

DEEKAST #17 Marcel is a very talented rap artist and is 1/2 of the group Moofeek & Deek (me) which release Couch Fame in 2012. I was a fan of his music before I knew him. Eventually we met and ended up doing a song called Hell Yeah. In the summer of 2012 I lived by myself in a big house by the Pen Centre where the rent was dirt cheap due to some ongoing renovations. We built a studio out of cardboard boxes and recorded a whole album. In between takes and beat sessions we would smoke joints on a couch Donny gave me on the porch. See deer and talk about life at 3am. Then we finished the album, threw a show at the Pepper and brought the couch on stage and rapped on it. Some of you were there––it was a fun time. Eventually this lead to many collaborations in the city for us, forming a label and also a band called Grizzly Planet. We still make music, but back then there was a great learning and growing experience going on and those times will never be repeated in the same way. That was t --- Support this
