In Defense: A Podcast

In an episode filled with spectacle, wonder, and the occasional musical number, Tayler Vee Robinson (@TaylerVee) talks about the trilogy of Baz Luhrmann films that shaped the rest of her life, along with Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Australian accents, Time Crisis 3, Lil Missy, and Taylor Kitsch.

Kind, gentile, and all-around nice guy Matthew Kane (@MattKANEEE) talks about his love of watching movies where bodies get stabbed, slashed, and burned alive. Along with talking about Michael, Jason, and Chucky, we talk Damn Daniel, Matt's fear of Garry Marshall, some of our favorite kills, a little dab of Kanye, and we even squeeze in a mini-defense of Weezer.

Girlfriend of the Show Sam Colon (@samjcolon on Instagram) finally gets to do the Kardashians and their many shows justice. America's Sweetheart Jake Jabbour (@wakeupwithjacob, co-host of UCB's "We're Gross with Gilli Nissim") talks America's Other Sweetheart Ben Stiller and his questionable 2007 Farrelly Brother comedy and how/if it holds up. Before we get to that, we discuss broken backs, iPhone games, Jake's love of books, childhood fears, our favorite comedies, and a lot of OJ Simpson.

The Sandler Downfall. Esther Fallick (@estherfallick) and I continue our mutual love of his filmography and discuss our true feelings of such films as Jack and Jill, Grown Ups 2, That's My Boy, and Pixels. We also get into Judd Apatow, Sandler's Netflix deal, and the core reasons why he gets so much hate. Sandler forever (Like Texas forever, but better).

The topic that started it all. Finally, actor and dear friend Esther Fallick (@estherfallick) gets deep into our mutual love of Adam Sandler and his filmography, but not until we talk about Chance the Rapper, Hamilton, Esther's personal connection with Sandler, our favorite types of bad movies, Sandler's love of sports, and some good news for Dana Carvey fans!

Fellow Cobbler member and certified clean person Elizabeth Green (@lizzyagreen) defends her love of cleaning people's feet, but of course we also talk about sports franchises, dusty toes, the dangers of sandals, freaks on baby blogs, and she gives me a nail ranking. I learned a lot in this one!

Johnny Tots AKA The Tot Man (Cobbler improv) defends owning his Maltese whilst also being handsome as can be. On our way to the dog discussion, we stop by phantom cell phone rings, disliked presidents, eating bratwurst while dealing with loss, spooning with animals, and John names a lot of gross sayings. Ben talks iPod games, Mel Gibson, burgers, Matthew Gray Gubler, Chipmunk movie trivia, our mutual love of Let's Play videos, and he goes through his Most Underrated of 2015 lists, as well as the (incredibly embarrassing) albums on his phone. Ben Clausen, my best friend and the funniest person I know, stops by the garage to talk about his terrible taste in music, movies, and food. Between Ben's many celebrity impressions, we find time to discuss lumberjack field trips, the life and times of Kurt Sutter, hidden rosaries, and the incredible, never-before-seen but soon to be legendary Ben's Food Chart. This is a must-listen episode, kemoslobee!

Great actor/great friend Joey Richter (@joeyrichter, Tin Can Brothers on YouTube) takes us on an Unexpected Journey through his love of Lost and the Hobbit, but not before smaugging our way through discussions of Ira Glass, Fargo, Stars (both Trek and Wars) and that dumb saying about rose-colored glasses. Did I mention that we talk about Star Wars?

Alex Warheit (@regardingalex) is a man of many pop-culture interests. He appears to discuss his love of award shows, but not before we talk about the many Boy Meets World theme songs, that early AOL life, our mutual feelings on the Coen Brothers, and The Good Wife (of course).

In a fairly antagonistic episode, Andrew Turowski (a.k.a. the Turkoolx, @thebigturowski on Instagram) tries his absolute hardest to derail the show, and in the meantime, we discuss our love of ants, Lady Marmalade, the special effects in The Parent Trap, early email addresses, our friend Justin Theroux, and we also do a lot of bad accent work. He's great.

On an extra gross episode, Carolyn Klarecki (@carolynklarecki) talks about her love of zit-popping videos, but not before we heavily discuss disgusting topics like mole removals, gagging at the dentist, carrot-based jokes, and accessing childhood crushes through their parents. Actor and comedy person extraordinaire Nick Skardarasy (@nickskardarasy, Lemonade Stand Comedy on YouTube, not the kid from Kingsman: The Secret Service) stops by to discuss his love of assholes in sports, as well as What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, the Beach Boys Pet Sounds Sessions, and common phrases that are definitely racist.
