  • What Remains of Edith Finch - QorC Ep.87

    09/05/2017 Duración: 56min

Like it or loathe it, the walking sim genre is here to stay, and it's going from strength to strength with titles like Everyone's Gone to the Rapture and Gone Home picking up plaudits for their narrative led gameplay. The latest kid on the walking sim block is What Remains of Edith Finch, which seems to borrow heavily from previous games in the genre, but also adds its own unique style and gameplay mechanics. The Quit or Continue crew sit down and chat about the game, the genre, and discuss whether or not Edith Finch deserves a place at the top table. Check us out at www.quitorcontinue.com

  • Little Nightmares - QoC Ep. 86

    28/04/2017 Duración: 34min

It's time for Jack and Andy to review Little Nightmares, a charming horror game from the devs of LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway, but can this companies cutesy background really translate into a truly memorable creepy game? Spoiler: kinda. We talk about the rise of the macabre puzzle platformer, in the wake of Limbo and Inside, whether an art style is enough to carry a game, and what exactly is it that makes a game creepy? Hey, we've got website too. It's at www.quitorcontinue.com. It's pretty damn cool.

  • Thimbleweed Park - QorC Ep. 85

    20/04/2017 Duración: 48min

Hey! Behind you! A three headed monkey! Thumbleweed Park is finally here, and Jack and Andy sink their teeth into this very traditional LucasArts style point and click game from creators Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick. Can it live up to the glories of the genre? Were we clever enough to work out when to USE and when to PICK UP or TALK? And most importantly, is it better than Broken Age? Find out in our podcaaaaaast! Check us out at www.quitorcontinue.com

  • Gaming BAFTAs 2017 - QorC Ep. 84

    10/04/2017 Duración: 45min

It's time for the prestigious BAFTA awards to recognise the gaming industry, with both newcomers and seasoned vets getting their dues. Wait, it says here that No Man's Sky got nominated for an award. Huh. Most be a typo. Well, anyway, Jack and Andy take a look through the nominations and winners, and talk about how they stack up.   From best debut to best British game, there's loads to cover, so grab a coffee/coke/white Russian, and come join us, won't you?

  • Drawn to Death review - QorC Ep.83

    06/04/2017 Duración: 52min

With Mike still on paternity leave (congratulations to Mike & family!), Andy and Jack check out Drawn to Death, an old school multiplayer shooter. It's David Jaffe's latest project, the man best known for Twisted Metal and God of War, so is Drawn to Death set to be a classic? We chat about its, like, totally gnarly and bodacious style, how it will compete with Overwatch, and ponder the merits of the humble Kendal Mint Cake for way, way too long. Honestly. Too damn long. • Hitman review - QorC Ep.82

    30/03/2017 Duración: 55min

This week Andy and Jack emerge from the shadows to tell you about Hitman, the worlds number one baldness simulator. After a bit of a rough patch with Absolution, is this the game that Hitman fans have been waiting for? We take in the games locales, talk about our best hit techniques, the career of Bros, and the locations we'd like to see in future seasons. • The Bunker review - QorC Ep. 81

    22/03/2017 Duración: 55min

Oh cool, you're thinking, a podcast about a golf game! Afraid not my friend, The Bunker is actually a game that sets place in a...bunker, but the underground concrete kind, rather than a sandy shallow. So then, is this FMV game a sign of a new trend in gaming? Or a throwback to a bygone time? Do the actors, including a previous cast member of Chucklevision, have the chops to make us believe they're really trapped in a bunker? What would you most like to eat on the toilet? That's a lot to consider, but please rest assured that we cover all that, and more, in our podcast review. Have a listen. Go on. I promise it's not crap. • The Last Guardian review - QorC Ep. 80

    14/03/2017 Duración: 01h15min

We take a look at the long awaited Last Guardian, originally announced almost ten years ago, and it's finally here! Fittingly, our review was a long time coming to, but we've finally sat down and chatted about all things Trico. Did the cat/bird/griffin listen to us? Or was it a case of having to deal with an unruly 15 foot child of an animal? Well, as it turns out, a bit of both. We also ask if the game stands up today, given its long development process, and if the game belongs alongside Team Ico's previous work. • Horizon: Zero Dawn review - QorC Ep. 79

    07/03/2017 Duración: 01h26min

Sure, Horizon: Zero Dawn is a Sony exclusive with gorgeous graphics and robot bloody dinosaurs, but is it a good game? The QorC guys chat about their time on the post post apocalypse landscape with Aloy, and discuss if the game does enough to get away from the tired cliches of AAA open world games. We talk about taking down mechanical beasts, crafting, towers in games, Metacritic reviews, and, for some reason, Last of the Summer Wine. God bless you, Nora Batty. • Tom Clancy's Wildlands Beta - QorC ep.78

    27/02/2017 Duración: 41min

The Quit or Continue gang have been playing Tom Clancy's Wildlands, taken down drug barons and driving flash cars. Go us! The beta has proved an interesting diversion, but is there enough game there to convince the QorC gang to part with 40 quid? And can the lads co-ordinate enough to infiltrate a base like elite mercenaries? Er...no. But we had fun trying, and one of us got squished by a Lamborghini. Also, listen all the way through for our new quiz, Clancy or Clancy, where you have to guess the originator of the quote, Tom Clancy or Abby Clancy. It's harder than you think! • Our Wii-U-logy is a warning for Nintendo Switch - QorC Ep. 77

    17/02/2017 Duración: 01h23min

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye. We pay homage to the Wii U as Nintendo finally pulls the plug. In our obituary we explore one of the strangest launch line-ups in history (that, bafflingly, looks set to be repeated by the Switch), as third parties flooded it with rehashed old titles before pulling support. We scoff at Nintendo's seeming reluctance to release games that took advantage of being on the very first Nintendo console with a HDMI port. And we question why Metroid, Mario Galaxy and Zelda (we don't count remasters and Breath of the Wild is too late) skipped the Wii U altogether. Of course, we couldn't resist contrasting the Wii U's fate with that of the Switch. A console that – with its mixed messaging, paucity of third party games and strangely lacking launch lineup –already seems to parallel many of the Wii U's shortcomings. Here's hoping that Nintendo can learn (rather than link) to the mistakes of the past.

  • A Normal Lost Phone review - Quit or Continue Ep.76

    10/02/2017 Duración: 48min

In A Normal Phone, you find a lost phone and have to piece together the story of the owner, Sam. By delving into his messages, photos and dating apps, can the Quit or Continue gang crack the mystery? We chat about the innovative game, what it gets right and what it doesn't, and why smaller, innovative experiences are a refreshing change of pace from AAA titles. Like what you hear, or have a burning question you want to get off your chest? Check us our at www.quitorcontinue.com, or tweet us @quitorcontinue.

  • Dishonored 2 review - Quit or Continue Ep.75

    01/02/2017 Duración: 01h05min

Pssst. You. Yeah, you! We've been playing Dishonored 2, and we're in a stealthy mood. Come and join us as we chat about Bethesda's follow up to the original Dishonored, and the continuing adventures of Corvo and new addition, Emily. Did the gang manage to stay quiet enough to not alert any guards along the way, or did Andy lumber in, knocking over vases and generally making a scene? Is it a worthy successor to the original Dishonored, a game that we all really enjoyed back in 2011? And what's all this about creative levels that we've heard about? Find out about all this and more in the podcast! Like what you hear, or have a burning question you want to get off your chest? Check us our at www.quitorcontinue.com, or tweet us @quitorcontinue.

  • Bait and Nintendo Switch - Quit or Continue Ep. 74

    19/01/2017 Duración: 01h27min

Having had time to digest Nintendo's Switch event, the QorC regulars get to grips with the fallout. Listen in as they talk their way through such difficult questions as: - Are Nintendo in (Kirby's) dreamland in thinking the Switch will capture the attention of non-gamers – especially with the peripherals priced so high? - Should it have been marketed as a portable – the successor to the 3DS – that can also plug into the TV? After all, as it stands they're making the 3DS largely redundant with Switch, yet calling it a home console. - And can Switch possibly sell enough units to make it worth Nintendo releasing an eventual follow-up console. Or is Nintendo's imminent future one of making games for other companies' consoles? Like what you hear, or have a burning question you want to get off your chest? • PSX 2016 round up - Quit or Continue Ep.72

    05/12/2016 Duración: 41min

It's December, and Christmas has come early for Playstation fans, as Sony shows off all the goodies that PS4 can expect in 2017 (sorry Vita owners, you get a lump of coal). Showing off new titles like Last of Us Part Two, Uncharted 4 DLC, and leaning into old classics like Wipeout and Loco Roco, there was something for everyone. Probably.  We have a good old chat about it in our usual fashion, and display equal parts hype and horror at he reveals. PS. Crash sucks. Quit or Continue's Jack and Andy chat about what the game manages to achieve in it's short play time, as well where it misses the mark.
