Christelle is a new Canadian, arriving here from South Africa in 2017. Mr. Derrick was introduced to me as someone who would be able to provide a splendidly talented voice over for my Nobodies Radio Station on Internet radio, and in his home studio outside of Ottawa, Canada, he recorded several radio IDs and bumpers for me. Matthew Johnston's music takes him on a journey of faith and deals with a period of psychosis in his life and the strength he finds now to rise above it, and more so, that keeps him grounded when he feels life is slipping. Proud husband and father, Matthew and I used to work together in what seems like another lifetime ago. We reconnected late last year and during the time I found about his music and was more than happy to share it on my shows, and more importantly, he was willing to let me share it. Through that I had to know who the man had become in the 7+ years that we lost touch. What I found can't be covered in one podcast episode. On September 21st, 2018, a devastating tornado ripped through parts of communities in the greater Ottawa, Ontario areas, such as the town of Dunrobin and the Quebec city of Gatineau, destroying people's homes, property, businesses, schools and more. Several people were left without shelter and and many more without power, some areas almost a whole week without. Warnings came but in this part of the country, actual tornadoes are few and far between, and unfortunately, most were caught unprepared.  To date only one life was claimed. The damages in certain areas is extensive and the next year to year+ will be spent rebuilding and regrouping.  Former podcast guest, also, model, musician, actress and magpie herself Penelope Goranson pulled together some contacts she made in the biz and secured the Live on Elgin venue on Elgin Street in downtown Ottawa to host a disaster relief benefit concert on Halloween night to raise funds, awareness, love and support for all those affected and for people to come to have a good

It's a 'Nobodies in Toronto' 2018 edition and as teased in the previous episode's teaser, myself and Open Topic Podcast host Eric V. are/were hitting the mean downtown streets of Toronto, and actually encountered very friendly and helpful people, as well as friendly drivers on the road, who helped us at least get to the subway stations so we could begin our historical underground journey. This episode of the podcast is a preview of what myself Chad Vice and Eric V. of Open Topic Podcast will be doing when we visit the big underground streets and tunnels of Toronto, Ontario, Canada coming up in November 2018, as it's the return of 'Nobodies in Toronto' but with a different take on this year's feature. Instead of featuring guests from the city, we are taking the time to go on an underground tour of the city's historical subway and street car tunnels as well as visiting the famous underground shopping mall. Kent Goranson, husband of my former guest and cancer warrior Penelope Goranson, has some interesting stories of his own to share, and I was happy to hear that he was willing to share some of them with me on an episode of the podcast. Kent recounts that he has suffered some memory loss due to severe head trauma from a car accident years prior, and has affected some of his recollections, but that doesn't stop him from dishing out some great memories from his very full life and showing off his wit and charm. We discuss his love of motorcycles and owning a bike shop, we discuss his interest in stars and planets and physics that have pushed him into owning his current store, Focus Scientific here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and we also hear how he grew up in a small town in Quebec but how he was actually born in Toronto at his mother's behest, and why she wanted to have her baby there.
