  • Side 1 moroccan tape

    02/12/2012 Duración: 21min

Exploring the rugged southern region of Morocco. I arrived in the hardscrabble town of Tafroute. Famed for its Argan oil and its strange bright leather footwear. It's also where I bought the bulk of the best tapes this one included. From what I can gather this instrument is called a Lotar from the Middle Atlas region played by the Amazigh imdyazn (bards). One long improvisation per side of mesmerizing melodies. Can someone please give me an arabic translation?
