  • Siriyakorn "Bung" Siriboon

    22/07/2018 Duración: 01h44s

In the mid-2000's, an Australian man named Fred Pattison moved to Thailand. He had recently fallen in love with a Thai woman named Vanidda, who had two daughters from a prior marriage: Siri ("Pang") and Siriyakorn ("Bung").In 2008, the family moved to the area of Melbourne, Victoria. They began working towards a better future, and the two girls - Pang and Bung - began attending Australian schools (which they hoped would give them a leg up in the future). All was fine for a time, until the morning of June 2nd, 2011. At around 8:15 that morning, Bung left for school; a walk that normally took her ten minutes. In the distance between her home and school, she disappeared... and has not been seen since. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsAilsa Traves - "Third Corridor"Artem Bemba - "Red Shore"Graham Bole - "We Are One"Blue Dot Se

  • The Mississippi Hangings

    15/07/2018 Duración: 01h07min

In October of 1990, a man named David Scott Campbell was arrested in Philadelphia, Mississippi... the same city where, 30 years prior, three civil rights workers had been abducted and murdered by members of the KKK. On his first night in prison - which, coincidentally, was also his 21st birthday - Campbell took his own life. Two years later, in August of 1992, a young man from Jackson, MS met a same fate. Andre Jones, the eighteen-year-old son of a NAACP chapter president and a Nation of Islam minister, was arrested and transferred to a neighboring county. There, he also met his unfortunate end. These two young men were just endemic of a larger problem plaguing Mississippi jails and prisons over a six-year period, from 1987 to 1993. During that time span, an unusually-high number of inmates/prisoners ended up taking their own lives... and the cause is still unknown. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, c

  • The Florence Salon Murders

    08/07/2018 Duración: 59min

On the morning of November 6th, 2001, a customer walked into a Florence, Montana hair salon. Just inside, she would make a shocking discovery.Inside the salon, just waiting to be discovered, were the bodies of three women: 62-year old Dorothy Harris, 44-year old Brenda Patch, and 71-year old Cynthia Paulus. All three were the last you'd expect to find in the middle of a murder investigation.Over the next two decades, the investigation would focus on a number of connections: an "oddly-dressed man" seen leaving the salon that morning; a similar murder that took place in Great Bend, Kansas; and finally, a local illegal narcotics operation. But to this day, the case remains unresolved... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsRotten Bliss - "Under The Branches"Graham Bole - "Nae Shaam"The Gateless Gate - "Mvatn"Noiseonport - "Spect

  • Arlis Perry (Update)

    29/06/2018 Duración: 19min

In October of 1974, a young woman named Arlis Perry was brutally murdered in the Stanford Memorial Church. Over the years, her case has been bandied about as a potential cult-based murder, has been tied to unrelated offenders such as the Son of Sam, and even became the focus of many "Satanic Panic" theories in the 1980s.I covered this story in one of the first episodes of the podcast, back in March of 2016. Now, some new information has surfaced which points to a resolution. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast (and others), consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsThe Gateless Gate - "Mvatn"Daniel James Dolby - "Longing"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

  • Amerithrax

    24/06/2018 Duración: 02h08min

On September 11th, 2001, a massive attack brought America to a screeching halt. In the immediate aftermath - while everyone was trying to figure out what had happened, and if it could happen again - another series of events began to play out. Originating in Florida, and then spreading into other populated areas along the East Coast, anthrax-laced letters made every American question their safety.Over the next decade, federal investigators tried to determine who was behind this biological attack, which left seventeen infected and five dead in its wake. But even now - close to 17 years later - the same doubts continue to linger...  Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast (and others), consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsFabio Keiner - "El Canto Tercero"ROZKOL - "On The Run"Kai Engel - "After Midnight"Breath Before The Plunge - "End Of All Things"Scott Holmes - "Everest"Pulse Em

  • The Zodiac (Part Three: Legacy)

    02/06/2018 Duración: 01h57min

Between December of 1968 and October of 1969, four separate attacks left the San Francisco Bay Area shaking. Two attacks happened in the area of Vallejo, another took place along scenic Lake Berryessa, and the final incident took place in San Francisco itself - in the wealthy neighborhood of Presidio Heights.A madman, who referred to himself as "The Zodiac," began corresponding with the media at around the same time. He took credit for the attacks, and - as the attacks progressed - he became more confident and began threatening police, journalists, and even school-children.Throughout the years, many have theorized connections to this mysterious killer: other possible crimes, noted suspects, etc. But the many mysteries of the Zodiac killer continues to linger...Part three of three. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsBlue Dot

  • The Zodiac (Part Two: This Is The Zodiac)

    27/05/2018 Duración: 58min

Three weeks after the Fourth of July shooting incident at Blue Rock Springs Park - in Vallejo, California - a mysterious series of letters were received by publications in San Francisco's Bay Area. The writer offered up a three-part cipher, which supposedly contained the identify of the shooter. As the media began to pick apart these cryptograms, another couple of crimes seem to continue the killer's crime spree. First, a young couple is brutally attacked at Napa County's scenic Lake Berryessa in September of 1969; then, a San Francisco cab driver is randomly targeted just weeks later, in October. The writer of the original letters - who dubbed himself "The Zodiac" - takes credit for all of these murders. But then he begins to wage a war of terror on the Bay Area itself...Part two of three. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod become a Patron Music Creditskra

  • The Original Night Stalker (Update)

    26/04/2018 Duración: 01h07min

This is an update regarding the first story I tackled on "Unresolved," that of the serial offender that went by several names: Original Night Stalker, East Area Rapist, Golden State Killer, and Visalia Ransacker. On April 24th, police in Ventura County, California, arrested 72-year old Joseph James Deangelo for the murders of Charlene and Lyman Smith. They were just two deaths attributed to this unknown killer, this mysterious EAR/ONS/GSK, among over a dozen.Upon his arrest, law enforcement announced a press conference for this four-decades old cold case. Investigators and websleuths alike are desperate to learn any details about this little-known Deangelo, who wasn't even on the radar of law enforcement more than a week ago. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meConsider supporting the podcast by heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod and becoming a patron Music CreditsAlea Minerva - "Dead Letters"Pulse Emitter - "Decaying Ships"Tapes Tubes - "Salad Days"Ka

  • Sgt. Patrick Rust (Part Two: Found)

    25/04/2018 Duración: 01h48s

In September of 2007, the skeletal remains of Sergeant Patrick Rust were found in a field outside of Watertown, New York. Immediately, the Army CID changed the course of their investigation, steering their focus away from an AWOL soldier to a non-combat death.Likewise, since Patrick's remains were found outside of Watertown - in rural Jefferson County - the case was handed off from Watertown PD to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. They, too, began investigating the case as an "unknown death," as both the manner and cause of death proved impossible to identify.Throughout the next several years, the investigation would stumble through several roadblocks and detours, ultimately resulting in a story that remains unfinished...Part two of two. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsBorrtex - "Journey"Blue Dot Sessions - "Chi

  • Freeman & Bible (Update)

    23/04/2018 Duración: 32min

This is an update regarding an episode I released in January of 2018, titled "Freeman/Bible." In December of 1999, the bodies of Danny and Kathy Freeman were found in their burned trailer home, outside of Welch, Oklahoma. For over eighteen years, investigators have wondered what happened to the Freeman's missing teenage daughter, Ashley, and her best friend, Lauria Bible (who had been staying over).Just today, police announced that they have a suspect in custody, named Ronnie Dean Busick. They also believe that two other men - Warren Phillip Welch II and David Pennington (both now deceased) - were involved in the crime. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.me Music CreditsGraham Bole - "Sunset At Goat Fell"Cory Gray - "Piano Anticipation"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

  • Sgt. Patrick Rust (Part One: Lost)

    19/04/2018 Duración: 44min

In 2007, Patrick Rust was a 24-year old Sergeant in the U.S. Army, who had just recently returned from his second deployment. A native New Yorker, Patrick had enlisted just months after 9/11, and his time in the military had taken him through training in Oklahoma and Texas, and two separate deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. In March of that year, Patrick moved off-post for the first time, with a roommate he had known for roughly fifteen months. The two lived together for a single day before Patrick went missing, in the early morning hours of March 16th. In the hours before his disappearance, Patrick had made a suspicious withdrawal from an ATM, made and received a series of erratic phone calls, taken a mysterious detour with acquaintances that others describe as "troubled," and encountered a blast from his past in the most unlikely of settings. All of it painted a very convoluted picture, which investigators have not been able to decipher in over a decade. Part one of two.  Written, hosted, and produced by

  • Phantom Social Workers

    11/04/2018 Duración: 37min

In February of 2018, a woman in the Australian city of Queanbeyan claimed that a stranger had visited her home. This mysterious woman, who was unknown to the young mother, had come to inspect her house and her two children. She claimed to be an FACS caseworker, but - as this small suburb outside of Canberra would soon learn - this was not the case. This story hearkens back to the first half of the 1990s, when similar stories broke out across the United Kingdom. From Sheffield to the northern tip of Scotland, worried parents claimed that strangers - pretending to be social workers - tried to either inspect or abduct their children. But where did this urban legend originate? Well, if you believe some, it all began with a child abuse scandal from Cleveland in the mid-1980s... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a PatronMake sure to check out the podca

  • The Shaw Creek Killer

    18/03/2018 Duración: 49min

On the morning of November 16th, 1987, a pair of hunters discovered the skeletonized remains of a young woman just a stone's throw away from Shaw Creek - in the woods just south of Eureka, South Carolina. These remains have never been identified, and serve as the jumping-off point for an investigation that now spans over three decades. In 1991, the remains of a local woman - Jackie Council - would be found roughly half-a-mile away. Then, in 1993, another unidentified Jane Doe was found just off Shaw Creek. As if that wasn't enough, the body of a Georgia woman that went missing in 1989 - named Risteen Durden - was found just a few miles away in 1992.The state these women were found in point to a single suspect: a killer that terrorized young black women in Aiken County. However, until now, this killer hasn't even had a name... and while there are many of suspects to look at, none of them completely fit the bill... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meUse t

  • The Millbrook Twins (Update)
