04/08/2025 Duración: 06minBlack Label Trading Company was founded by James and Angela Brown and is based out of their factory, Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli, Nicaragua. Most cigar smokers know them well as James is one of the hottest cigar blenders around at them moment, especially from Nicaragua. In 2015, James created the Black Works Studio, or sometimes called BLK WKS, which was like a laboratory for him to experiment with different tobaccos and vitolas in a limited supply. One of the first cigars to be released from Black Works Studio was the Killer Bee. The Killer Bee was a unique cigar that had a distinctive cap. The cigar is wrapped with a luscious Connecticut Maduro wrapper from Ecaudor, but the cap also included a sliver of natural Ecuadorian Connecticut shade tobacco wrapped around it giving it the bee stripes effect. Prime Time Jukebox Episode 165 Audio: 2025 Battle of the Bands Draft
16/07/2025 Duración: 01h42minOn Episode 165 of Prime Time Jukebox, we kick off the 2025 Battle of the Bands Competition. This year, we pivot from albums to individual records. Hector Alfonso of Espinosa Cigars and John McTavish of Developing Palates are once again back and participating. The concept works as follows: Dave, Coop, Hector, and John will each pick eight songs. The selections will occur via a “Draft.” Once the albums are selected, each participant will seed them, place them into brackets and you will decide who should move on. We will go through each round on Twitter, until there is a winner from each of the four brackets. From that point, the four bracket winners will square off in a final four. The tournament commences later this month with two matchups a day to vote on. Each vote will be eligible to compete to win one of three special prizes that will be announced. 04/07/2025 Duración: 05minCoop and I (Ben) drove down to New Orleans form North Carolina for the PCA trade show and, while on the way, we stopped by The Cigar Shop in Biloxi, MS for a visit. As most of you know, this is my first home shop. My home away from home. During our visit, a particular light caught my eye. In the glass case was a slim lighter with a striking copper and gunmetal color scheme that I thought looked really great. I asked, Rob, one of the tobacconist there if he could bring it out of the case to let me check it out. Soon as he put it in my hand, it never made it back in the case. That light was the Rocky Patel H. E. lighter. The light was very sturdily built with a good heft. Its a single flame lighter with a stronger pinpoint flame. I don't know the type or name of the jet flame, but I've seen it before in other higher end lighters. It has a blue ring inside and the flame has a flower shape when ignited at the bottom.
