It’s Prime Time, Episode 338, and the second day of our 2025 Prime Time Virtual Trade Expo. This is the sixth year in a row we have run this. The concept is straightforward. On Prime Time Episode 336, we have the second installment of our four-part 2024 PCA Pre-Game Series with Media Panel 20. Tonight, we will have our annual panel discussion regarding PCA. Rick Rodriguez and and Gus Martinez (formerly of General Cigar Company), founded West Tampa Tobacco Company in 2022.  They debuted the White and Black series in 2022 at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas.  In 2023, West Tampa released a limited edition cigar using a Mexican San Andres wrapper along with Nicaraguan tobacco.  The Red series is an offshoot of that cigar using the same wrapper, but different binder and filler.  This is what West Tampa says about the Red: Like its predecessors, White & Black, Red delivers a flavor bomb with enhanced body that is a perfect addition to the West Tampa line-up. On the Smoking Syndicate Roundtable 21, the Cigar Coop Coalition tackles the Quesada 50th Anniversary Toro Prensado. In 2024, Quesada celebrated its 50th anniversary since the opening of its first cigar factory, Manufactura de Tabacos S.A. (MATASA), in 1974. Currently, Quesada’s factory operation is called Tabacos de Exportación (TABADEX). The Quesada 50th Anniversar is a limited edition line with two vitolas to commemorate the occasion. The Quesada 50th Anniversary debuted at the Procigar 2024 festival and was showcased at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. Fred Rewey of Cigar Press is our special guest panelist for tonight’s show.

On Prime Time Jukebox Episode 154, we present “Songs to Ride Out the Storm.” This episode was inspired by Cyclone Alfred, a massive storm that hit Brisbane, Australia. As the title indicates, we created a playlist that you can listen to as a storm approaches. On Prime Time Jukebox Episode 153, we present the “Old School Jukebox Song List”.  This episode goes back to the origins of Cigar Jukebox, the predecessor to Prime Time Jukebox. The premise is quite simple, Dave and Coop each select a cigar, and then build a song-list to pair with that cigar. For this show, we will announce the cigars we will pair on the show itself. On the Smoking Syndicate Roundtable 20, the Cigar Coop Coalition tackles Lure Cigars’ The Jolly Walleye Limited Edition Holiday Cigar. Lure Cigars was founded by Lou Cross III as a tribute to his late father. Lou Cross Jr. Cross Jr. was also an avid fisherman, which is the brand’s theme. According to Cross, “Immediately after lighting this elegant cigar, we experienced flavors that immediately connected with memories of the many sweet and savory treats we enjoy around the holidays. We knew this would be one we wanted to share with fellow cigar enthusiasts. Dad’s favorite fish to eat was the Walleye pike at a Friday night fish fry, and it seemed fitting since this cigar has become one of our favorite blends in our portfolio.”

On Prime Time Episode 331, Scott Pearce, President of the Cigar Association of America (CAA) is our special guest. Many know Scott from his tenure with the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) where he served as the Executive Director. Last year, Scott moved over to the CAA. We will dive deeper into the history and mission of the CAA. We will talk about some of the CAA’s initiatives and what they are doing around advocacy.
