  • PSTS Episode 99

    21/05/2014 Duración: 51min

Maybe it's something in the air at the end of every Spring, maybe it's the growing excitement of a bunch of announcements piling up behind the door, but either way, 'tis the season for everyone and their mother to start shouting out half-truths that they overheard in the bathroom at Subway. Fear not! Jeff and J.D. are here to go over what is confirmed true (like Halo 5's subtitle!), what are possible (like YouTube purchasing Twitch.tv!) and what are complete fabrications (like a sequel to Parappa the Rappa!)

  • PSTS Episode 98

    14/05/2014 Duración: 01h06min

The Era of Dark Souls II is coming to an end, as both of our heroes have finally beaten it and are ready to give some final thoughts on the unique experience. After that they will finally have time to talk about news, which includes a ton of interesting stuff: changes to the Xbox One's requirements, a new game from Rockstar, open servers on Halo CE (which people apparently still play). Plus a super-exclusive, definitely-not-a-list-from-the-internet list of things the Big Three will be showing at E3!

  • PSTS Episode 97

    07/05/2014 Duración: 01h02min

E3 is just one month away, marking the time for the true beginning of E3-flavored announcements. This week that includes a few studios saying when they'll have their shows and what the general topic is, but also it means time for speculation. Jeff and J.D., meanwhile, are still obsessing over Dark Souls, ready to tell you all sorts of minor spoilers about the gameplay as they work their heads around it. Plus a ton of info on the new Mario Kart, then a half-review of Ubisoft's new little title Child of Light, and a few more rumors that definitely have nothing to do with Dark Souls.

  • PSTS Episode 96

    30/04/2014 Duración: 01h02min

It's finally happened: Jeff got J.D. to bite the Dark Souls bug, and it has bitten. For the first half (and then some) of this podcast our duo extoll the virtues and foibles (of which there are few) of the latest addition to the odd series, which only just came out for PC. Then they go over the latest weird announcement from Nintendo and the cool stuff it means for Smash Bros fans, as well as some interesting announcements from Sony Online Entertainment. Cheap is good!

  • PSTS Episode 95

    23/04/2014 Duración: 46min

Sometimes you get really, really slow service at a restaurant, and it means that it's really late when you record your podcast. And if all you really have to talk about that week are a bunch of tiny releases for the most popular handheld, plus a couple of trailers and boxart reveals, well, you end up getting a little silly. That is what happens this week.

  • PSTS Episode 94

    16/04/2014 Duración: 51min

A light news week makes for stupidly light conversation, as Jeff and J.D. prove in just a few minutes this episode. There are still several points of discussion, however, including the newest hit let's play put out by yours truly, a few small announcements at the east coast Penny Arcade Expo, and some gushing about an upcoming not-quite-indie game from Ubisoft.

  • PSTS Episode 93

    09/04/2014 Duración: 01h09min

Starting at 3pm Pacific time yesterday Jeff and J.D. could do almost nothing but talk about Super Smash Bros due to a news-busting Nintendo Direct, and now they can direct their energies at you. Characters! Stages! Online Modes! But before they can get to that they need to go over some release dates, a few final notes on Assassin's Creed IV, and a rumor or two. You know, the boring kind of news.

  • PSTS Episode 92

    02/04/2014 Duración: 48min

It's everyone's least-favorite holiday for the internet, which means there are a lot of silly and/or stupid video game announcements to wade through. Jeff and J.D. have picked out their favorite announcements from Tuesday and are here to share them with you. There are also some reveals about the increasing power of Metacritic, prompting a discussion about the influence of averages. Plus, who doesn't love a good Zelda-like Starfox game? All that and more, just inside!

  • PSTS Episode 91

    26/03/2014 Duración: 01h04min

Some exciting announcements popped up just in the last few days, things that are making the internet spin around in circles, and of course our heroes Jeff and J.D. are here to explain and break things down for you. Before that, though, there has to finally be a serious breakdown of Gamecube classic Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, and a proper review of the demo--no, the ripoff--no, the short game Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

  • PSTS Episode 90

    19/03/2014 Duración: 01h02min

This week has a number of news items that come in pairs, with one big exception: Sony's announcement of a VR system at this years Game Developer Conference. It's a big step toward extra-immersive gaming, and Jeff and J.D. are happy to talk about what it may or may not mean. After that, we mobile games coming out based on beloved franches, some indie games Jeff and J.D. are finally getting around to playing, and yet more time devoted to discussing the upsides and downsides of our heroes' favorite older JRPG.

  • PSTS Episode 89

    12/03/2014 Duración: 54min

With all of their new games conquered (or at least put on hold for the moment), Jeff and J.D. have a few things to reflect upon today: namely Dragon Age Origins, its lesser-praised sequel, and the latest episode of The Walking Dead. Meanwhile there have been at least a few interesting news items: Titanfall's release, the Witcher 3's delay, and at least one noteworthy writer leaving a noteworthy studio (not that J.D. would know). Tune in for more!

  • PSTS Episode 88

    05/03/2014 Duración: 01h02min

The HD rerelease has finally come out for one of Jeff and J.D.'s favorite games, and they spent nearly all last weekend playing it and testing it out--purely for your benefit, of course. Look for a review of that which is truly a REviewing. Closely on the coattails of that is an announcement and leak for the latest release in the famous Batman Arkham series, as well as sad news regarding a fairly good game studio, some DLC announcements/avoidance, and more!

  • PSTS Episode 87

    26/02/2014 Duración: 01h04min

Jeff and J.D. spent more than a little time with a certain family of apes this weekend and are prepared to drop all of the goods about what's great about it, what's good about it, and what's honestly a little frustrating about it. After that there's a number of small rumors and facts about the Xbox One and its supposed price drop, so tune in if you're interested in that, as well as some commentary on just why that price needs to drop. Then there's just the matter of a few upcoming releases, some minor announcements regarding a famous fighting game, and who knows? Maybe some actual news!

  • PSTS Episode 86

    19/02/2014 Duración: 01h06min

A closed beta swiftly became an open beta this weekend, meaning Jeff and J.D.'s semi-exclusive preview of Titanfall became something everyone and their mother tested out. That won't stop them from talking about it, though! J.D. is also playing the famous Final Fantasy VII for the first time, making for an interesting look back (in our opinion), Hideo Kojima released stats on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid sequel, and write and producer Ken Levine wrote a note to the fans that has some far-reaching repercussions.

  • PSTS Episode 85

    12/02/2014 Duración: 01h02min

After an entire city shuts down due to snow, there's only so much that our news-reporting, game-reviewing duo can do, and that's hole up and play a cooperative JRPG to death. They have a lot to report on the latest translated episode of their favorite unconnected series. After there's a decent breakdown of this whole Flappy Bird phenomenon, an announcement or two regarding everyone's favorite upcoming giant mech game, and maybe some bones to throw to the Watch_Dogs crowd.

  • PSTS Episode 84

    05/02/2014 Duración: 01h05min

There are a million-and-one games releasing on the horizon, and Jeff and J.D. are shoring up their reviewing bungalows with lots of sandbags filled with backlog. Today they discuss a couple of games they've both been meaning to play forever, one from the SNES-era, and one from all the way last year. The big news of the week has been Nintendo's shareholder meeting, so expect a healthy dose of that, but also controversy over a once-beloved franchise going free to play. Stop me if you've heard that one before.

  • PSTS Episode 83

    29/01/2014 Duración: 01h05min

This week's news is equal parts small announcements and airy rumors, which gives Jeff and J.D. quite a bit to talk about. But instead they're going to discuss everything they've encountered in Xenoblade thus far, twelve hours into a hundred-hour game. After that Jeff has been testing out a few beta programs including Steam Streaming and the mysterious Project Spark, while J.D. breaks down exactly why Nintendo shouldn't care about the mobile game market (if it isn't on their own systems). String along some threequel rumors, some franchise purchases, and some odd movies, and boy, I'd say that's an entire episode.

  • PSTS Episode 82

    22/01/2014 Duración: 01h04min

Two major stories have been on everyone's lips for the past week, and Jeff and J.D. are here to sort them out for you, and basically explain why you really shouldn't care about one (because it probably won't affect you in any way but good ways) and the other is a bigger deal than some are making it out to be (because it exposes something we've all suspected for years). But first a hearty breakdown of what Jeff thinks of Broken Age now that he's finished, and a lot of talk about pointing and clicking.

  • PSTS Episode 81

    15/01/2014 Duración: 59min

There is no better way to spend your free time than by sailing the seven seas and looting as much as humanly possible, and that's how J.D. and Jeff have been investing their sailing instincts lately. Other new releases our heroes have been playing include the PC release of Metal Gear Rising, the electrified, over-the-top Metal Gear sequel, and the brand new Doublefine Adventure Game. Plus actual news!

  • PSTS Episode 80

    08/01/2014 Duración: 01h03min

A new year is upon us, and Jeff and J.D. are still stuck playing games from the last one. That's okay, though, because all of them are great games that they will seriously talk incessantly about. In terms of actual news, CES (the Company Esquire Services?) took place over the past few days, revealing a lot of fun announcements from our favorite big brands. Finally a lot of good stuff has been delayed, and that ain't exactly a bad thing.
