  • D&D: Bard College of Percussion

    02/02/2022 Duración: 01h04min

Bard College of Percussion for Dungeons & Dragons Join our D&D Discussions Live on Sundays @ 7pm Est or on our Youtube Channel here! Best-selling Dmsguild author Chan Lensch joins us to share a bit about his work and talk with us about his passion project the Bard College of Percussion. The bards of percussion manipulate the emotions of those around them. They are excellent communicators, know the hearts of those around them, and are in tune with their surroundings whether on or off the battlefield. The bards of the college of percussion are popular in the large armies of nobles and kings, as well as the humble war-bands of barbarian tribes and other savages. This shows that the percussive arts speak to all, regardless of their station and rank. Oh, did we mention that it comes with a fleshed-out faction? Bonus! There are some pretty cool backgrounds, subclasses and not to mention the great detail on instruments in here. The backgrounds really intrigued me. One thing really caught my eye is in th

  • 10 World-shaking Events for Dungeons & Dragons

    26/01/2022 Duración: 53min

10 World-shaking Events for Dungeons & Dragons When we think of world-shaking events, we tend to think big: wars that pit the forces of good against evil in a final confrontation, natural disasters that lay waste to entire civilizations, invasions of vast armies, or extraplanar hordes, assassinations of world leaders. These are the events that title the chapters of history.

  • Here's To Crime:

    19/01/2022 Duración: 52min

Dungeons & Dragons does a lot of things great. But there is one particular detail that is lacking. Any rogue player will tell you the rules for running heists are nearly non-existent. Well, Jimmy Meritt creator of Here's to Crime: A Guide to Capers and Heists has you covered! Oh boy, did he nail it! This small but mighty product will have the thieves, rogues, and masterminds in your group trembling with excitement! Films and shows like “Ocean’s 11”, “Mission: Impossible”, and “Leverage” make capers incredibly entertaining to watch, but it can be difficult to capture that same excitement at the gaming table. Planning sessions can devolve into tedium, and the caper itself can feel like a normal dungeon crawl, without twists or surprises. Well Here’s To Crime: A Guide to Capers and Heists helps you to evoke the energy and mood of our favorite heists and capers by breaking it into three steps with four possible approaches that form the basis of their caper.

  • Travelers of the Multiverse

    12/01/2022 Duración: 01h02min

Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition has certainly taken a different approach to their game design from past editions. They opened their playtest material to fans to play and experiment with mechanics and themes before the official release using their Unearthed Arcana. So you can bet your ass that we follow these releases pretty closely and choose what to cover. Well, there was no way in the Nine Hells we're going to miss out on talking (and speculating) on the details in the Travelers of the Multiverse UA. Inside we found a plethora of content that is just...out of this world. Astral elves with radiant souls? Check. mechanical gnomes built by rock gnomes? Check. Insectile creatures encased in a protective chitin? Check. Giant flying squirrels? Check. Also...rules for playing an ooze? Hell yeah, and there is more! As I said, just totally alien. We have hive hopes and thoughts on this Unearthed Arcana. Come join us as we discuss the mechanics and speculate the future of our adventures beyond our homeworlds.

The most famous of which is Faerun in the Forgotten Realms. In this, the lore and style of the races have been pretty consistent. Well, in this episode we want to mix that up. Popular Tiktoker and streamer Aelx Bomb joins us as we provide new and fresh looks at some of our favorite races. Telling the players the creature they are fighting is bloodied shows them how far along in the fight they are and whether they should be planning a retreat or going in for the kill. Today we discuss a product that includes clever details a

"When playing Dungeon & Dragons, there's nothing quite like being the Dungeon Master. While players are able to experience exciting adventures and play their characters with more freedom than nearly any other type of game can allow, DMs are in control of the entire world the campaign inhabits. In addition to controlling all NPCs, a DM is responsible for creating a fleshed-out world for players to explore. The type of world a DM establishes can vary greatly, drawing influences from everything from their favorite video games to their favorite shows. While this may appear daunting at first to new DMs, there are many ways to develop the world of a campaign and provide a campaign with a great deal of diversity. So today, we're going to examine ten things that new Dungeon Masters can do to improve their world-building skills for their campaigns!" Paul Disalvo

Dungeon Masters! Do you ever find yourself in the need of quick quest hooks or short adventures? With these 50 Notice Board Quests, you will always have something ready when your characters decide to bob instead of weave. 50 Notice Board Quests was developed by Drop the Die with the Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition tabletop game in mind, but when writing it, their goal was to give only the framework for potential quests players could choose to involve themselves in. This pretty much means it’s system and setting agnostic! Making it a powerful tool for all Dungeon Masters.

  • D&D Monster Tactics: Displacer Beasts

    20/10/2021 Duración: 01h03min

The displacer beast's cunning, stealth, and ferocity have earned it a reputation as one of the most well-known predators of the Feywild. The creature's image is used in heraldry and literature to indicate a character or an organization that is elusive, tricky, or mysterious. A surprise attack by a displacer beast means a quick death for most. The beast's speed is so great, and its attacks so fierce, that it can swiftly drop anyone who is not prepared and trained for battle. Join us, as we delve deeper into getting the most out of your Displacer Beasts in combat.

  • West March RPG Campaigns

    06/10/2021 Duración: 59min

What is a West Marches Dungeons & Dragons game? For this episode we delve into a fantastic article written by Ars Ludi the Grand Experiment. West Marches was designed to be pretty much the diametric opposite of the normal weekly game: There was no regular time: every session was scheduled by the players on the fly. There was no regular party: each game had different players drawn from a pool of around 10-14 people. There was no regular plot: The players decided where to go and what to do. It was a sandbox game in the sense that’s now used to describe video games like Grand Theft Auto, minus the missions. There was no mysterious old man sending them on quests. No overarching plot, just an overarching environment. Listen now, and hear our thoughts on this underused and fantastic campaign format.
