Welcome to the House of Hope! Forbearance is a word which has been almost dropped from our vocabulary. It means to abstain from condemning others, to refrain from judging the actions and motives of those about us. The Bible says, “With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2, KJV). Our culture is quick with the deadly thrust but slow with the ointment of healing. The harsh criticism of others and unfair appraisals of those about us may hurt them, but it hurts us more. The unjust condemnation of others has a boomerang effect. When people hurl vindictive indictments with the hope of crippling others, they will soon discover that they have hurt themselves more. Merry Christmas from me and Sharon! Welcome to the House of Hope! What a wonderful Savior we have in Mary’s Lamb, the Son of God born that first Christmas night! Jesus came as He did, born of a virgin, to be what He was—the sinless Lamb of God. He was what He was, sinless, to do what He did—die for our sins. And He died for our sins so that He, being what He was, might make us what we are not and ought to be— children of God. Remember those Passover lambs being raised in Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth? Those were the lambs the shepherds kept watching over when the angel appeared to them announcing the birth of the Savior. Even though we are observing Christmas, the first week of Jesus’ earthly life, I want to “fast forward” to the last week of His life.

As we rejoice in the arrival of the Christmas season, let us celebrate the constancy of the light that shined into the world when Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. John tells us that Jesus was “in the beginning with God” (John 1:2). Furthermore, Jesus is the Creator God without whom “nothing was made that has been made” (John 1:3). Jesus is the eternal God. God cannot change. He declared through the prophet Malachi, “I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6). James made this wonderful statement: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17).

Good Morning! Thank you for being with us on the House of Hope! Merry Christmas! When Christmas guests walk into your home, may they say, “This is a home that loves.” Love is not only the greatest virtue; it is also the greatest commandment. Jesus Himself said that love for God is the first and greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37–40). If love is the greatest commandment, then what would be the greatest sin? It must be the failure to love, because that would be breaking the greatest commandment. Love is the greatest virtue and the greatest commandment. It is the greatest testimony!

Welcome to the House of Hope Radio Ministry Program! My Friend Shonda Savage wrote this....... Sometimes we may be caught up in the trials of life and feel overwhelmed. When we become consumed by the pressures of life, it may be difficult to think of reasons to give God thanks. Even while in the midst of our tough seasons, the Bible teaches us to give thanks. One my toughest seasons came when my son was arrested. The tragedy of the situation felt like I lived in a nightmare and I couldn’t wake up. However, the Lord showed me that in spite of my son’s incarceration, I have reasons to give Him thanks. Once I pressed through the barrier of anguish and began to give thanks to God for reasons listed in His word, other reasons began to rise up in my thoughts. Here is a list of seven scriptural reasons to give God thanks to get you started.

I have said for years that we are in deep trouble in this Country, that of course includes the Church. So many do not know God! I have called for the Church to carry out The Great Commission in the love of Jesus! America needs missionaries right here!!!!!!! The Church needs to get down to the business of God and not the business of man and politics. I say that politics has become a religion too many…..that is very, very sad! Too many worship politicians and not God. I asked this question last night of all of us: The WW II Generation is said to be our greatest generation ever! What will we be remembered for?
