Until he became engaged to Mary, Joseph's life probably resembled that of most of the other men in his hometown. No doubt hed had business concerns and goals for the future, but nothing seriously interrupted his daily routine until Mary informed him she was pregnant!

So much of what we say and do comes from our emotions. The way to victory over your emotions is to consider yourself crucified. Because this is an ongoing act of your will, the indwelling Christ helps keep the door of the Holy Spirit open and the door of the flesh closed. As you put your old self to death, the Spirit of God gives you new, victorious life. When you do this, you are filled with the Holy Spirit. You are able to live in the Spirit. God takes control of your mind, will, emotions, and therefore, your soul and body. Sometimes you may beleive that your emotions are so strong that you cannot master them. You may feel that when they sweep over you like a giant tide, you have no choice but to drift along with them. However, you are not helpless in learning to control your emotions. The Holy Spirit can help you when you are tempted to give in to your emotions. In his book, “MasterLife” Avery T. Willis Jr. maps out a course of action that can help you master your emotions

It is these type of stories that help turn peoples lives around. It gives us all hope. There are thousands of stories like this around America that need to be told. God is love. God is still in the miracle making business and I am so very thankful for the boldness of Jennifer and Loren to share their story of redemption. I pray for more people like Jennifer and Loren. Welcome yo House of Hope Radio! This week my Dear Friend Dr. Jim Denison wrote a column on the world being such an unhappy place: The world is more unhappy than it has been in a decade. Gallup’s Negative Experience Index found that markers for worry, stress, sadness, and physical pain are all at record highs. The Index stood at 24 in 2008, as the Great Recession was beginning, and stayed at that level for the next three years. Remarkably, unhappiness began to rise in 2012, a time when many economies were recovering. Since that time, most global markets have risen dramatically. But so has unhappiness, to an unprecedented level of 30 in 2017.

Facing The Fire! I want to share with you a message that I shared at the House of Hope in Windom last month. The message comes from Daniel 3. Obey God and leave all the circumstances to Him. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego all refused to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar. It is such a strong testimony to us all,Facing the FIRE!

This morning I want to share on "How Does God Define Sin" based on Jeremiah 2: 12-17. Sin is defines as "missing the mark"....just as an arrow misses a bull's eye on a target. God's holiness is the standard we are to meet, and we miss it whenever we sin. Another way to look at sin is that we "fall short" of God's perfect Will. God desires that we live in wholeness and obey all His commands.
