  • Part 13 - What Story Is That Charlie?

    09/08/2017 Duración: 01h42min

Part 13 - "What story is that, Charlie?" With so many avenues left open to explore, Part 13 chooses to dwell in the lives of our favourite Twin Peaks residents as they circumnavigate the worlds in which they reside. Sarah seems stuck in a loop; similarly, Big Ed, Norma, and James circle back to their starting positions, as if the last twenty five years hadn't changed a thing. Meanwhile, Audrey remains trapped...where? And DougieCoop's amazing ability to avoid danger proves useful once again. It's a jam-packed Part, and so it's a jam-packed episode of Bickering Peaks! Notes: Crazy Casino Music Big Ed Reflection WE WERE WRONG! Both Big Ed and Nadine are wearing rings. I guess we both need new glasses...

  • Part 12 - Let's Rock

    02/08/2017 Duración: 01h45min

Part 12 - "Let's Rock" A divisive installment of our favourite TV show--Jerry leaves the forest, Sarah panics at the grocery store, Audrey appears...and everyone seems content to talk about other people: people off-camera, people who haven't entered the room yet, people we've never even met! Join us for our discussion about Part 12 of The Return; we've got dreams and augmented reality and father/son dynamics and multiple languages and Blue Roses galore! Notes: If you aren't doing so already, you should be reading Joel Bocko's takes on The Return, published (usually) within an hour of each airing. We don't know how he does it, but his are often the only articles we read prior to recording. He's always seriously on point...probably because he speaks Lynch so fluently! Definitely check it out! Here's a link to his Part 12 essay, which quotes Joanna Robinson and which we talked about in our discussion

  • Part 11 - There's Fire Where You Are Going

    25/07/2017 Duración: 01h55min

Part 11 continues last week's trend of giving us many plot points and tons of exposition for many different storylines, and we try to nail them all down in this doozy of an episode! Notes Aidan said he was pretty sure "Threnody" was playing in the scene in Buckhorn, but we're now more sure that it's playing in the opening scene with Becky and Shelly...do you know where exactly it's played? • Part 10 - Laura Is The One

    18/07/2017 Duración: 01h49min

This week's installment sees the advancement of a few different plotlines: Dougie and Janey-E take their relationship to the next level, we learn more about the Mitchum brothers, and Diane's role gets further complicated. Plus! Constalbert!

  • Part 9 - This Is The Chair

    11/07/2017 Duración: 01h35min

"This is the chair." Part 9 brings everyone back to the present day (maybe?), and picks up the many pieces concerning William Hastings, DoppelCooper, and the Twin Peaks Sheriff's department. Join us as we discuss the increasingly interconnected stories of The Return and go over some of the implications of the revelations that come in this week's episode.

  • Listening Post Alpha - PART 2

    04/07/2017 Duración: 01h35min

Continuing our discussion from Part 1, Becks and Eeson of Time for Cherry Pie and Coffee joined us at Bickering Peaks for a rousing chat about the evil in those woods...and in Buckhorn, South Dakota...and Las Vegas, Nevada...and New York City. Seems like no corner of the continental United States is safe from the machinations of Mother, BOB, and Mr. C! We also took a round of listener questions, so check out if your question made the cut! As always, we'd love to hear from you, so please drop us a line on Facebook, Twitter, or via email. And be sure to subscribe to Time for Cherry Pie and Coffee over on their mothership podcast, Time for Cakes and Ale--you can follow them on Twitter (@TFCAA)

  • Part 8 - Gotta Light

    27/06/2017 Duración: 01h28min

"Gotta light?" Part 8 takes us deep into the mythology of the world of Twin Peaks but with a scope that expands so far beyond the town itself that it might be an afterthought. This is now a battle between good and evil on a cosmic scale that only been hinted at before, and we're seeing it start in real time...all because of a little thing called Trinity. Make sure you tune in for our crossover episodes with Becks and Eeson of Time for Cakes and Ale for deeper theories about not just this episode but the arc of the season so far! You won't want to miss it. Notes: Check out 25 Years Later for Eileen and John's articles this week, along with the other contributors' articles, which should be sure to tickle your fancy if you're here for the theories (and we ARE!) Don't forget to send us your questions via Twitter, Facebook, email (bickeringpeaks@gmail.com) or here on the page! We'll be accepting listener responses until 5pm MDT on Friday, June 30.

  • Part 7 - There's a Body All Right

    20/06/2017 Duración: 01h50min

**Deals with sensitive subject matter. Listener discretion advised** The Bicks dive right into Part 7 of The Return with a long, hard look at doppelgangers, Diane, Dougie, diners, and dozens of plotlines that all of a sudden seem ready to converge. What's gonna give first: will Dougie-Coop make it onto the national news and spark the interest of someone in Twin Peaks? Will Ben tell someone about the key to room 315 that suddenly showed up at the Great Northern? Will Hawk talk to Audrey or, maybe, Annie? Notes: Forgive us our tiredness: Aidan recently had his wisdom teeth out and misspoke a few times, calling Albert "Gordon" and Andy "Harry"...he apologizes profusely for the mistake, and blames the painkillers. • Part 6 - Don't Die

    13/06/2017 Duración: 01h26min

**Deals with sensitive subject matter. Listener discretion advised** Part 6 of The Return takes us from Las Vegas to Twin Peaks back to Las Vegas as the plot seems to start narrowing in on the stories of "Dougie" in Lancelot Court and those of the residents (new and old) of Twin Peaks. Dougie helps nail down an insurance fraud scheme; Janey-E battles bookies; Carl Rodd makes his forlorn return to our screens. Notes: Article by Eileen G. • Part 5 - Case Files

    06/06/2017 Duración: 01h42min

Part 5 - Case Files. Our first venture into a weekly one-hour segment of The Return, we found a lot to discuss, consider, and marvel at in this short segment. Aidan waxes philosophical about the unique American-ness of the show, Lindsay marvels at Bob's return to the scene, and we both love the Buckhorn CSI's stand-up material. Between new characters and the returns of some older ones (not to mention some gold shovels), there's plenty to discuss and consider in Part 5 of the new Twin Peaks. Also, David Lynch's first film is available on YouTube - styled as a home movie: Sailing with Bushnell Keeler.

  • The Return - Parts 3 and 4

    30/05/2017 Duración: 02h16min

Part 3 - Call for help Part 4 - ...brings back some memories The second set of back-to-back episodes (aired on May 28th but previewed on Showtime online and various other streaming outlets worldwide on May 21 immediately after the two-hour premiere) blew our minds with its astonishing visuals and sound design that truly immersed you in the world the characters were inhabiting. Largely following the Good Dale through his journey away from the Red Room, we meet a number of new characters and see many faces we remember as the mysteries of The Return continue to unfold. Join us for some early theorizing, nagging questions, and more!

  • The Return - Parts 1 and 2

    23/05/2017 Duración: 02h25min

Part 1: My log has a message for you Part 2: The stars turn and a time presents itself In the dazzling first two hours of The Return, we pick up the very loose and frayed dangling threads from Season 2, discover more about the nature of the Red Room, and meet a number of new and baffling characters as we get thrown into a murder mystery with a touch of the supernatural. (Sound familiar?) If you were expecting a return to the comfort of coffee and donuts and cherry pie, this most certainly ain't it...it's Twin Peaks: The Return, and it's here to totally blow our minds!

  • Fire Walk With Me - Part 5 The Missing PIeces

    19/05/2017 Duración: 01h04min

Fire Week With Us concludes with our look at The Missing Pieces, which were included as part of The Entire Mystery Blu-ray set. We examine them for their impact on the film and the wider Twin Peaks universe, and some actual bickering ensues, don't miss it!* Also on the docket is a look at the "Between Two Worlds" featurette that was also loaded on The Entire Mystery. Will it contain clues for what we'll see on May 21, 2017? We sure hope so... Also! Stick around past the closing credits for a Marvel-esque extra scene you won't want to miss! *Bickering may appear smaller than advertised.

  • Fire Walk With Me - Part 4 Questions in a World of Blue

    18/05/2017 Duración: 43min

Part 4 of our Fire Walk With Me dedication is a quick return to the film, and series, through the eyes of one of our Twin Peaks neophytes, Olivia. We rejoin her and husband Aaron for a chance to see the start of the series under the cloak of Fire Walk With Me as a true prequel. How does the Pilot compare to the film? How does the tone shift? What about some of the characters? And most importantly, can you still fall in love with the town of Twin Peaks after first being exposed to it through the close-up of Laura's brutal murder? These (and other) questions are ones we asked, and Olivia provided her own unique take on the series thus far. Do you know anyone else who's watched the film before the series? What were their experiences like? Share with us in the comments below!

  • Fire Walk With Me - Part 3 Theories and Conjecture

    17/05/2017 Duración: 54min

Part 3 of our Fire Walk With Me coverage takes us a little deeper into the theorizing side of the film. We invited Aaron back to talk about John Thorne's "Dream Theory"--laid out beautifully in Thorne's indispensable book The Essential Wrapped in Plastic: Pathways to Twin Peaks--as well as speculate about the origins, meaning, and function of the Owl Cave ring. Do you agree or disagree with any of the theories put forth? Do you have another theory about Fire Walk With Me? Let us know! Notes: A brief primer on the Dream Theory from Lost in the Movies

  • Fire Walk With Me - Part 2 The Last Seven Days of Laura Palmer

    16/05/2017 Duración: 02h03min

**Deals with sensitive subject matter. Listener discretion is advised** The second installment of our five-part look at Fire Walk With Me takes us to Twin Peaks in the late winter of 1989. We follow Laura Palmer as she interacts with her friends and family in the week leading up to her death. The tragic circumstances of her life are finally revealed in all their harrowing ugliness, and the mythology of the Lodges are explored in greater detail than ever before. But we still have no idea what's going on. We're joined by former guests Aaron, Nathan, and Tasha, who returned to give us their views on the film. We also enlisted the brainpower of two total Twin Peaks newbies--Olivia and Simon--who haven't seen any of the original series and who are here to tell us if Fire Walk With Me can stand apart from a TV series they have never watched before. Don't change that channel, friends--we're gonna turn this up. side. down! Notes: More information on the angels missing entirely from the shooting script, check out

  • Fire Walk With Me - Part 1 Deer Meadow Prologue

    15/05/2017 Duración: 52min

The first installment of our five-part look at Fire Walk With Me begins with the Deer Meadow portion of the film. FBI Special Agents Chet Desmond and Sam Stanley are called in to investigate the murder of Teresa Banks, a drifter whose body washed up on the shores of Wind River. What they discover leads them to believe this is more than your average whodunnit. We're also introduced to the J Edgars in Philadelphia--Gordon Cold, Albert Rosenfield, and Dale Cooper--and meet the mysterious Philip Jeffries, who has a lot to say about a meeting above a convenience store that he claims to have attended... That's a terrible plot description for this part of the film, but really, how else do you summarize ANY part of Fire Walk With Me? We're joined by former guests Aaron, Nathan, and Tasha, who returned to give us their views on the film. We also enlisted the brainpower of two total Twin Peaks newbies--Olivia and Simon--who haven't seen any of the original series and who are here to tell us if Fire Walk With Me can s

  • Episode 30 - Beyond Life and Death

    09/05/2017 Duración: 02h28min

"Through the darkness of future's past The magician longs to see One chants out between two worlds: Fire walk with me" It's the finale folks, and the moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived. Will Agent Cooper be able to save Annie from Windom's clutches? Who will he encounter in the Red Room? And what will become of his soul? Notes: Psalm 141 Original script link Vlog Lady We would be remiss if we didn't give proper credit to John Thorne and his invaluable book The Essential Wrapped in Plastic: Pathways to Twin Peaks, which we considered our Bible during the recording of Seasons 1 and 2 on our podcast. Thank you, John, for your work within the community and for keeping the flame so brilliantly alive these last 27 years! (Buy his book! Seriously, you will NOT regret it!)

  • Episode 29 - Miss Twin Peaks

    09/05/2017 Duración: 01h17min

Leo gains a little ground and releases the Major...and then Windom comes unwound...Annie writes a speech about trees (and seeks a little of Coop's expertise)...the Miss Twin Peaks pageant hits fever pitch and goes off with only one teeny, tiny, itty bitty little hitch... Strap yourselves in, Peakies, because we're getting down to brass tacks with this penultimate episode of Twin Peaks: it's 2x21 "Miss Twin Peaks". As everyone in town gears up for the Miss Twin Peaks contest, Windom makes final preparations in the woods. Luckily for our intrepid Eagle Scout investigator, Leo has a change of heart and frees the captive Major Briggs, who returns with stories to tell. It all leads to the night of the festivities, and with so many women vying for the crown (and Windom waiting in the wings) it's all hands on deck for a showdown of epic proportions.
