Greg introduces Lauren to obscure 2007's Meet Bill staring Aaron Eckhart. The two discuss how dvd trailers can tell you what kind of success a movie had and if the movie is a comedy or not, and if that question is the real problem with Meet Bill. Lauren admits that for a movie with such a cliche plot the film itself manages to avoid the cliche and even gives us a bonafide male character with an eating disorder. In this episode Greg introduces Lauren to one of his favorite spy films, James Cameron’s True Lies. Lauren helps Greg take off his nostalgia glasses and proceeds to ruin one of his favorite movies. They discuss if Cameron’s film was intentionally racist and sexist, or if Cameron’s divorce may have influenced the film more than Cameron intended and the rest was just lazy writing.
