Don't do the time crime, if you can't do the crime time! It's Groundhog Day Again....Again month does a loopdy-loop with the great Spanish thriller, Timecrimes! We're joined by guest Ryan Boland, who has known Peter since childhood, and likely has seen him commit many types of crimes...maybe even a timecrime? Next week, we're covering Source Code! (don't believe the liars at the end of the episode who say another movie).

It's Groundhog Day all over again. And again. and again. It's February, so we've got a whole batch of time loop movies to discuss. First, the movie closest to Groundhog Day's structure. Max Barbakow's PALM SPRINGS marked an impressive piece of timing - dropped in the middle of 2020's COVID-19 quarantine, a film about being "stuck" in time resonated with a lot of us. As well, it came at a key point in Lonely Island's transformation, as they begin to get more ambitious and more daring in their productions.

We're wrapping up Lovecraft and Other Drugs Month with two little seen Lovecraft-inspired movies worth seeking out. The first, Black Mountain Side, with caveats, and the other, The Beach House, unreservedly. So let's take one more climb up the mountain, and another dip in the sea, to find the terror that waits for us all....

Lovecraft and Other Drugs Months hit rock bottom (of the ocean) when we cover a recent movie that (spoiler based on what month we added it to) is a surprise Lovecraft adaptation. That movie? 2020's Underwater starring Kstew and Vcass, a movie that may be the last movie some of our audience ever saw in an actual movie theater!

For our final episode of CURSED CHRISTMAS, we have decided to finally exorcise the demon that is the Ron Howard HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS adaptation, a movie we've referenced dozens of times over the years and now can hopefully put to rest beneath the festering loam that is the graveyard of our childhoods. It does not get more cursed than The Search for Santa Paws, the 10th entry in the Buddies/Air Bud franchise, and a prequel to the 8th film Santa Buddies. It starts with Santa receiving a dog corpse and gets sadder from there. We're very sorry we've done this.

This week on CURSED CHRISTMAS, Nora Ephron went dark, and well, the results are mixed. As mixed as the nuts filling the offices of the suicide hotline that Steve Martin runs (calling people nuts ain't great!). Tune in with Bill, resident Christmas fiend, and witness the horrors of a farce that does not land laughs for 20, 30 minutes at a time.

Cursed Christmas Month begins with a movie so cursed, one of the hosts wondered if he actually hates Christmas at the end! (and the other has watched it 5-6 times) That movie is Christmas with the Kranks, based on a John Grisham novel (yes, really), and we're joined by Amanda Lett who helps us declare that this whole damn movie is out of order, (Also, at one point Aaron says the movie came out it 2007, and everyone else insists it was 2004 but doesn't want to argue with Aaron because...you know...but it was 2004. )

It's our 4th annual Christember Kickoff! Our well known tradition where we plot our Holiday movie watchlist, to ensure we watch 800-900 new-to-us Christmas movies! We're joined by our Christmas mascot, Bill!

In one of Disney's big budget live action swings, they decided to take on all of American folklore (well, at least the white parts). Of course those previous lines were a parody of the Bryan Adams, Sting, and Rod Stewart song "All for Love" which inspired the 1993 Disney movie, The Three Musketeers. Disney: Back in the Action month kicks off with a whimper; not because the movie isn't good, but because you can't hear anybody as they are so, so small. The movie is 1989's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids! which kick started Joe Johnston's career, and brought one of the funniest people on the planet into the lives of kids everywhere. Next week, we blast off with more Joe Johnston and The Rocketeer.

The ritual is complete - Bill has watched his 31 scary movies, and now he is one of us. Hail Satan, yadda yadda. We close out Spooktober 2020 with our final recap!
