Joe's Awesome And Tommy Hates Everything

We talk about Pacific Rim: Uprising, Jessica Jones, the bizarre fandom of modern Sonic games, and more. We play 2 games (one inspired by the previously mentioned Sonic fandom, and the other inspired by the last lines of movie characters), and play the final round (of the first 16 rounds) of Undebeatable.

We ramble through a bizarre grouping of topics including Stephen Hawking, Mick Foley, Terry Gilliam, Gross People, Stardew Valley, the Legend of Korra, Death Wish, Walker Texas Ranger, Sonic Mania, Monster Hunter, and some other stuff. We also play a trivia game based on movie posters.

We talk random movies (A wrinkle in Time, Christopher Robin, The Guyver), random cartoons (Star Wars Rebels, Voltron, Freakazoid), random TV shows (Jessica Jones, Deadwood), collecting old video games, Rom Hacks, play two rounds of undebeatable, and then play the Rotten Tomatoes game.

We (vaguely) talk Star Wars Rebels, play two different trivia games (one about early D&D items, and the other about the history of video games consoles), and play a weird round of Undebeatable (featuring a Marvel second stringer who is possessed by the spirit of Vengeance and a galactic hero who is from a distant past as well as a distant galaxy.)

This episode is a special clip show collecting the first 8 rounds of our fictional fighting tournament called UNDEBEATABLE, where we childishly discuss who would win in a fight between two randomly drawn fictional characters (from movies/comics/video games/television/and more). We talk Gotham (as in By Gaslight / the show Gotham / and a themed Masquerade ball), Star Wars Rebels, Black Panther (no spoilers), conspiracy theorists, and some other stuff. We play TWO rounds of Undebeatable (the first featuring two "Real Americans" [albeit one's from space], and the second pitting an Amazonian princess against a really lucky architect) and then play a game that involves the Incredible Hulk Television show from 1978.

We talk Injustice 2, DC comics, movies (The Cloverfield Paradox / A Stupid and Futile Gesture, Voyeur), TV Shows, and Silver RavenWolf. Then we play a round of Undebeatable (featuring two very different intergalactic murder machines) followed by a game based around upcoming remakes and sequels.

We read a weird old DC comic, play a round of Undebeatable (Featuring a sentient plant monster and an ancient Warrior King), and then play a game based on Rotten Tomatoes reviews.

Some people talk about Hellboy, some people talk about gun control, and then they all talk about Sinestro for a while. I don't know what else to write here.

We talk about TV shows including Star Wars Rebels, The Keepers, Making a Murderer, Black Lightning, Punisher, Iron Fist, Walkind Dead, The Toys That Made Us, and even more. We also touch on The Post, the Venom movie, and both Marvel and DC comics including Wolverine, The Atomic Knights, and the War That Time Forgot.

A year in preview for the movies of 2018. We discuss what's coming out and make predictions. Before that we play a round of Undebeatable and also talk weird dreams, Mary Roach, Lego, Star Wars comics, trades vs. Omnibus, and a lot more.

Recorded on New Years Eve, we talk residual Star Wars feelings, comic books, Game of Thrones, Dungeons & Dragons, The Shape of Water, as well as a round of undebeatable (featuring an iconic 90's movie monster and a post-apocalyptic one-armed warrior). In the second and last SANTACLYSM of 2017 we review two obscure and bizarre animated specials. The first, A Cosmic Christmas (1977), is about 3 Magi from space and is probably one of the worst specials we've ever watched. The second, Christopher the Christmas Tree (1993), is about a really dumb tree who is both too small and too big to be a Christmas tree. It is also terrible, but the result is probably one of the funniest reviews we've done. Merry Christmas!

We do an absurdly long (and spoiler filled) in-depth discussion about Star Wars: The Last Jedi that was recorded on the weekend of the film's release. Before that we play a brief game about Christmas movies and then a long round of Undebeatable. The Last Jedi discussion starts at Minute 46.

Santaclysm returns for another year of bizarre Christmas movies. In this installment we take a look at the oft-mentioned 1967 traditionally animated Rankin/Bass classic Cricket on the Hearth.

We talk Justice League (the movie), play another round of Undebeatable (featuring and an iconic horror hero and the villain from a classic children's franchise), and then play a game of Tommy's design that is based around Rotten Tomatoes reviews. We discuss the epidemic of sexual assault that has dominated the news recently and Tommy talks of one particular case that hits a little close to home. After that we talk comic books (Brian Michael Bendis leaves Marvel for DC / Various writers / the 90's animated Spawn cartoon) and Josh tells the story of his brief cameo appearance on another podcast (Jay and Silent Bob Get Old). In this episode: we revisit our predictions from episode 175 and talk about the year 2016. Note 1: At the time of recording this I (Tommy) hadn't seen La La Land, so let me take this moment to say it is probably my favorite movie of 2016. I love it. I saw it twice. I bought the soundtrack. I also hadn't seen 31 at the time, which I can say is probably the worst movie of 2016. Note 2: We are taking a hiatus for a while to sort personal stuff and reboot the show to make it better. This is NOT the final episode of JATHE, but it sort of is the end of an era of our dumb little show. Goodbye for now, please don't forget us, take care of youselves. In this episode: It's a Christmastime marathon of Rankin/Bass specials. Every year we devote a handful of episodes to Christmas movies/specials. This year we only had time to record 1, so we made it count. This is a massive 3 hour episode wherein we discuss 6 specials from top to bottom. The specials inculded are Leprechaun's Christmas Gold, Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey, The First Christmas: The Story of the First Chrismast Snow, The Little Drummer Boy (1 & 2), and Pinochio's Christmas. If some of those things sound bizarre to you, it's only because they are. I hope you and enjoy this episode and have a great Christmas.
