Outdated References

Post Thanksgiving talk! This year was a weird Thanksgiving since we were all in home isolation during the biggest American family gathering of the year. We do our weekly gaming talk and then we move on to our main topic: "Star Trek Discovery" Season 3, Episode 7 Unification III & "The Mandalorian" Season 2, Episode 2, Episode 5: The Jedi spoiler talk. We are so happy to enjoy some new fun sci-fi. --Nathan

So a slight format change this week. To make the show flow better, we are now doing a quick recap of the episode and then focus on our favorite part of each episode, in an effort to keep the bloat down. Also, Adam's fun time camping recap, Virtualboy talk, Covid-19 holiday talk and our infamous 20 year old Metal Slug X story.  -Nathan  

I'm excited to say that as of this episode, we have caught up with our backlog. We will be recording a new episode later today but I always like to wait a week before posting to let every get a chance to watch Star Trek Discovery and The Madalorian. I figure that will absolve us from having to constantly post spoiler warnings and it keeps the site's name, Outdated References, relevant, lol.  Anyway,  This week we cover "Disco Season 3, Episode 5: Die Trying" and "Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 3: The Heiress." We talk, we laugh and we even annoy each other.  --Nathan 

We have a 4 person show this week with Russ, Adam, Coral, and myself, as we have our weekly show discussions about "Star Trek Discovery" Season 3, Episode 4: "Forget me Not" & "The Mandalorian" Season 2, Episode 2, "The Passenger." Per our show format, before we get into the meat of the episode, we catch up on each other's lives, talk about games we've been playing, comic books that we should be reading, and have fun chats that tangents into a cool discussion about whatever. This week's it's about Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, Legend of Korra, and why we never actually learned about actual world history. We are at full capacity with this week's show. Coral, Adam, Russ, Jeremy and me not only talk about "Star Trek Discovery: People of Earth" and "The Mandalorian: The Marshal," we ended up chatting about art supplies and art techniques. Oh and DuckTales! Find the Canadian actor, Irish Tayto crisps are awesome and Adam and I chat about the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Last Ronin." Of course, since not everyone watched “Lovecraft Country,” we decided to do a one off spoiler chat after the main show. So, hopefully, there’s a little something for everyone. --Nathan

We chat about webcomics, comics and eventually we just have  a nice long discussion about Star Trek Discovery Season 3 Episode 1, "That Hope is You" and fun theories. Sports Talk, Politics Talk, Science Talk, Family talk, basically a personal episode because Russ and Coral didn’t watch Star Trek Lower Decks. Also, what do you call it when the collective has rose color glasses for Mario 64 but you literally have zero nostalgia for this groundbreaking classic? I don't know but it's an interesting episode. Expect more Star Trek Lower Decks episodes as we rush to catch up, because I want to move onto Discovery Season 3. We're Outdated References, but I don't want us to be too outdated. --Nathan

But before we get into a long discussion, Adam discovered the new Planet of the Apes films and it's kind of funny to see him realized he missed out on really good science fiction.
