When we last left our heroes, the adult members of Team JSA fell victim to Brainwave's reprogramming, and they had 30 minutes to interrupt Brainwave's transmission. Fortunately, Beth and Chuck had a plan! They hit the Gambler where it hurts (his money) and hacked the underground frequency blockers to free Pat and Justin from Brainwave's control. We finally get the showdown we've been waiting for, and Team JSA shows the ISA they mean business. After gaining the upperhand, Yolanda kills Brainwave and Courtney destroys the satellites, freeing everyone from the mind control spell. Icicle tries to make a last stand and pleads with Barbara, but she sees through his facade and turns him down. Stargirl and Pat team-up to rescue Barbara and Mike runs Jordan down with a truck. Unfortunately, that means he has started to see the good in others, including his own father, who has no good in him at all. While we all believed Jordan killed Henry's wife (Starman's sister!), it was really Henry himself who murdered his own wife. And in turn, murders his own son. Looks like Project New America is back with a vengeance despite the new JSA's efforts to "save" Brainwave and stop the ISA. Meanwhile, Barbara and Pat separate and reconcile. As it turns out, Jordan is not so charming that Barbara will forsake her husband, no matter what his Norwegian parents think about her. Meanwhile, our brand new teenage heroes have formed the beginning of a new Justice Society. Stargirl, Dr. Mid-Nite, Hourman, and Wildcat discover the ISA plans to break into a communications company. As they were fleeing, Grundy jumps out of the woods, smashes their car, and sends them into a tree, killing them. In present day, Rick is a sullen teenager whose uncle is clearly abusive. He has trouble controlling his anger, not knowing that his parents were murdered. She's grounded indefinitely. When Courtney realizes she is a boxer, she approaches Yolanda about taking up the Wildcat mantle. She shares her superhero persona with Yolanda, to win her over, and convinces her to try on the suit. Courtney and Yolanda test out her new powers on a mission to steal the visitor's log from the hospital. Holy Finales, Legendaires! This one was certainly jampacked with the usual finale items: wrapping up the season's story, sending off characters, and setting up the next season. I must say while the Encores fell flat this season, the Fates were a worthy foe and I enjoyed the ending of the story. The writer's room was as clever as ever and the actors were brilliant. It's what our show does best. Goofy, heart-warming, and a side of superhero action. This was one of the more consistent seasons we've had while embracing the goofy, crazy nature of the Legends that we have come to know and love. Until next season, Legendaires, when the rest of the team finally realizes Sara has been abducted by aliens. Well, maybe not, we'll be back in the offseason with some rewatch fun since the earliest we could be coming back is 2021. Stay tuned to the feed.
