  • Ep132: Have the Fish Come to You with Chuck Charlton

    07/03/2022 Duración: 01h29min

Today on The Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast we have a podcast for you. I mean a real podcast. We went over the hour, but I think you're going to agree that this is a really great conversation. Today I want to share a conversation I had with Chuck Charlton. I first met Chuck and his wife Melissa about 16 years ago when they moved to a brand new area to start their real estate business, and I’ve been with them the whole way, working very closely setting up and helping them get started with the Getting Listings and Finding Buyers programs, and working all the time to, really without having the name for it, build a listing agent lifestyle. Chuck is one of my favorite people to talk to. We've worked very closely over a lot of these years, and they've built an amazing business. I think Chuck is the perfect next guest after you've just heard Tony Kalsi with the most recent four year case study, Chuck is the OG. The original. When we first launched the Getting Listings program in 2005, or 2006, Chuck was the person

  • Ep131: 4-Years of Getting Listings with Tony Kalsi

    22/02/2022 Duración: 01h04min

Hello and welcome to the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast. My name Dean Jackson and today I want to share an episode I recorded with my good friend Tony Kalsi from Toronto. We have an infographic that goes with this episode so if you want to see what's happening, go to listingagentlifestyle.com and look under episode 131, there's the infographic. What you're going to be looking at is the results of a four year case study that we did with Tony Kalsi from September of 2013 to September of 2017 running a program we call Getting Listings.  It shows the expense, the capital investment of spending and sending the postcards and the newsletters to a very specific group of people. The outcome… $50,000 invested, $543,000 out the other end, an 11 times return on investment. We're going to talk about it, we're going to dissect it, we're going to talk about the future of it and I think that you are really going to enjoy this premiere episode of the Listing Agent Lifestyle   Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com

  • Ep130: Multiplying Your Listings

    23/11/2020 Duración: 44min

Today on the podcast, we’re continuing our live mastermind sessions from the Listing Agent Academy we held earlier in the year. This is a session about multiplying listings and all the things you can do to multiplying the number of transactions you get from each listing you take. It was great to get with some of the top agents from all over the US and Canada to talk about what’s working for them, and the steps you can take to improve your listing multiplier score. • Ep129: Building your 'Who' team - part 2

    01/11/2020 Duración: 58min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we’re going to listen in on a session from a live mastermind summit that we did about the Listing Agent Lifestyle. This is the 2nd part of a two-part podcast, so go back one episode if you missed the first part, and what we're talking about here is the idea of creating a team of ‘whos’. You've heard me talk about this idea of ‘who not, how’ to support you in building out your listing agent lifestyle, and we're starting to see, more and more as we're moving into the twenties, this collaborative model working out. There are some amazing success stories in the general business world that are a result of this collaborative model, and so we're going to apply that to real estate and specifically to the listing agent lifestyle elements over the next several weeks. This is a great episode for us to set the stage because this last week, Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy’s new book called Who Not, How was released, and it's based on my idea of the self milking cow, and surrounding

  • Ep126: Glen Teghtmeyer

    04/09/2020 Duración: 01h58s

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Glen Teghtmeyer, who's in the unique position of living in Nanaimo, British Colombia but having a business in Alberta. Glen spent a lot of time in Alberta. He has a really great foundation there with family ties and a lot of business, but he moved his family out to Nanaimo five or six years ago, so we spent this episode talking about how to really have it all. How to have both run a business in Alberta and live in Nanaimo with all the lifestyle benefits that brings. We had a great conversation about using some of the relationship equity he's already built up in the Alberta market to really solidify his business and a lot about the lifestyle elements of designing a business any way you want. There are a lot of possibilities in this episode. Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com Be a Guest Listing Agent Lifestyle Book Listing Agent Scorecard

  • Ep125: John Paul DeJoria

    01/09/2020 Duración: 01h12min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we have a very special podcast with John Paul DeJoria. You may recognize John Paul's name as the founder of the Paul Mitchell haircare brand and as a billionaire philanthropist. He's a super nice guy, and Joe Polish and I had a chance to speak with him on our I love marketing podcast. We've got to know him a little over the years. He came to speak at a genius network event, and this podcast was a wonderful conversation talking more about some of the things that are important to him in life and business. He's a very smart guy, very thoughtful, and it was great to hear about his daily routines and a lot of really cool stuff. There is great information here that I think you will find valuable. • Ep124: Michelle Jipguep-Sanders

    22/08/2020 Duración: 01h01min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Michelle Jipguep-Sanders from just outside of Atlanta, where she's been a long time real estate investor, who's now transitioned into being a real estate agent. We spent the entire hour talking about Getting Listings, and the approach of taking her investment mindset and applying it to listings in any area she wants. We went through a process of evaluating and choosing the area, then calculating what you could expect as a yield. It was great to hear the light bulb come on when we started evaluating the investment as an investor instead of looking at the money you spend doing lead generation, as an expense. I asked her how she would think about this as an investor, and it's amazing to see the opportunity we have when you look at it through those goggles. This is a great episode to see things from that perspective, and I think you'll get a lot from it. Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com Be a Guest Listing Agent Lifestyle Book Listing Agent Scorecard

  • Ep123: Kenny MacCarthy

    17/08/2020 Duración: 01h05min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Kenny MacCarthy, all the way from the North Shore & Cape Ann area of Boston, Massachusetts. I've known Kenny for many years, he's a great friend, and we had a really good conversation about essentially becoming a media company. Kenny's a very successful, long-time realtor. He got a great business that's working well. He has an established team. They've been doing Getting Listings programs for oceanfront listings right on Cape Ann, so he has everything working there, but he's looking for more. He always wants to grow. One of the things Kenny loves to do is make videos. He loves shooting video, playing with the technology, and trying all kinds of video ideas, so we had a great conversation about the possibilities to scratch that itch, and really create some bigger opportunities that he could be excited about working on. This is a great way to engage people no matter what type of realtor you are, so there are lots of ideas in this show. Links:

  • Ep122: Erick Spiegel

    07/08/2020 Duración: 59min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Erick Spiegel from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and I'm excited for Erick because he's a brand new agent, literally a month into his real estate career. We took a walk down memory lane today and talked about when I was first getting started in real estate, what motivated me to get started, and what a really actionable plan would be for Erick. This is what I would do starting out in Eau Claire Wisconsin or in Poughkeepsie, New York, or in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for that matter, wherever you are. If you're brand new in real estate, this is the plan I would follow. So take a listen with that in mind and think about how this applies to you. • Ep121: Joe Polish

    01/08/2020 Duración: 01h20min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, I've got a really interesting conversation with my good friend, Joe Polish. Joe and I host the I love marketing podcast. We've done that now for about 10 years, but I've known Joe for about 25 years, and someone pointed out to me recently this interview I'd recoded with Joe many years ago for his genius network interview series. This was a great conversation about lifestyle and lifestyle design, and one of the things, as you know, with our Listing Agent Lifestyle model is about combining your business while building an amazing lifestyle. So, listening to this brought back memories of some of the formative thoughts that went into the evolution of what turned into the Listing Agent Lifestyle. I think as the summer progresses, and we're thinking about our lifestyle as we coming back from being in quarantine, there's a lot of opportunities to reevaluate our lifestyles and to evaluate what we determined is the success of our lifestyle, so this is a perfect time to thin

  • Ep120: Kathy Cunningham

    24/07/2020 Duración: 01h08min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Kathy Cunningham from Indianapolis. Kathy's a relatively new real estate agent, less than three years, and she has a very interesting situation because she started mailing the Getting Listings postcards but stopped after a few months when it didn't immediately turn into new listings. Fast forward a couple of months, and all of a sudden, she had three transactions from the Getting Listings people she kept in touch with, so seeing it work, she's started sending the postcards again. This isn't an uncommon situation, and we had a really great conversation about scaling, and the opportunities for growth. We covered a lot of ground, and this is going to be a valuable episode for you. Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com Listing Agent Scorecard Listing Agent Lifestyle Book Be a Guest

  • Ep119: Al Alkhatib

    18/07/2020 Duración: 45min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Al Alkhatib from Whitby, Ontario, just in the Greater Toronto area. Al is just getting started with the Getting Listings program, and he's focused on listings in a particular area in Whitby. We talked through the whole strategy behind the program, the exact things you need to do to make sure it runs, and why you don't need to make any outbound phone calls for it to work. This is a great episode, especially if you're thinking, 'How can I get listings without having to make outbound phone calls?' • Ep118: Jeff Hansen

    06/07/2020 Duración: 01h04min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Jeff Hanson from Silicon Valley, San Jose, California. It's an interesting story that brought Jeff to the show. He was listening to an earlier episode and heard his good friend Barry Pilcher talking at one of the mastermind sessions we did from Orlando. He called up Barry, reconnected with him because of this podcast they have in common, and Jeff decided it would be a great idea to come on the show himself. It's a small world, even in quarantine. So, we had a great conversation. Jeff's been a realtor in Silicon Valley for a long, long time. He has a great specialty in high rise condos, and we talked about some really great strategies for completely dominating that market. There are some great insights here, and I really enjoyed this conversation with Jeff. Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com Listing Agent Scorecard Listing Agent Lifestyle Book Be a Guest

  • Ep117: Nanci Garnand

    29/06/2020 Duración: 01h17s

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with my good friend and long, long, long time client Nanci Garnand. Nanci is in Colorado, and she has a business that's almost exclusively based on her relationships with her clients, so we talked a lot about the equity of an after unit relationship in generating referrals and building relationships. It was great to catch up with Nanci, and this is a really great episode to look into the depths of your after unit, and what that can mean for you in terms of where business comes from. • Ep116: David Simon

    21/06/2020 Duración: 01h02min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with David Simon from Bergen County, New Jersey. David's been a long time resident of Bergen County. His family ran a hardware business for 70 years there, so he has a lot of roots that he used to start as a real estate investor, buying and flipping homes, and then into becoming a real estate agent. Both he and his wife practice real estate. They work in both commercial and residential, but today we focused on building up the residential side of their business, and the two main things to create a game plan for 2020. Most of his business comes from referrals, so we talked about how to shore that up and build up the number of people in his database, his top 150, the list of people that he's communicating with, and shoot for the 20% return on relationships we talked about. Then we talked about Getting Listings and went through a real analysis of how to pick the right area within Bergen County, and what the implications of that could be over the next two

  • Ep115: GoGo Adacemy 2020 Session 1 - The Start of a New Decade

    31/05/2020 Duración: 01h38min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're going all the way back to a time when we were gathering with people in public, and to our GoGo Agent Academy in February of 2020. That was the last time I was in a group of people, and we gathered in Orlando for two days to talk all about the Listing Agent Lifestyle elements as we do each year. Hopefully we'll be back on track to be able to do it again in February next year because these sessions are one of my favorite things I do every year. We get to talk about the up to the minute, State of the Union discussion of what's working, and what people are doing in pursuit of the eight elements of the Listing Agent Lifestyle. So, here is session one, and we're going to play a series of these over the summer, so you can experience it like you were there. • Ep114: Penny Alper & Kathy Falco

    25/05/2020 Duración: 01h02min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with not one but two guests, Penny Alper and Kathy Falco, up in the North East, New York and New Jersey. They've been thrust into the hotbed of what the media's calling 'the fleeing of people from New York' out to the suburbs. People who are scared to be in cities now and in condos starting a big migration to less densely populated areas. This creates a great opportunity, and it just so happens that years ago, I created an opportunity outside of Toronto that would absolutely fit with what's going on today. So in this episode, we talk all about how to position yourself, how to take advantage of this migration, and how to really get in the game as it unfolds. This is a really interesting episode, with a lot of ideas to take away. Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com Be a Guest Listing Agent Lifestyle Book Listing Agent Scorecard

  • Ep113: Justin Smith

    08/05/2020 Duración: 01h07min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Justin Smith from Orange County, California. I really enjoyed this conversation because so much of what Justin's doing in the industrial real estate market mirrors exactly what we talk about in the residential real estate market. We went through all the ways of creating a 'Before Unit' to attract his ideal clients without making outbound phone calls, which is always my preference. Everything I do to engage people is framed as 'what would I do if my phone only accepted incoming calls?' We went through the process of narrowing down to a single target market and thinking through how to get those people to raise their hands. Then we talked about ways to educate and motivate those people so when they're ready, they'll take the next step. There's a lot you can extract from this episode that will apply to your market as well. Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com Listing Agent Scorecard Listing Agent Lifestyle Book Be a Guest

  • Ep112: Jamie Harnish

    02/05/2020 Duración: 57min

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle Podcast, we're talking with Jamie Harnish from Toronto. Jamie has picked a great midtown area of 5,400 condo's around Yonge and Eglinton that he's trying to dominate, and one of the challenges, of course, is that a lot of them are rental units. The reality is, the way advertising mail works in Canada means there's always some unavoidable overspill as he has to deliver to some homes that aren't in his category, so we talked about a lot of the psychology of the long game. He's making all the right moves for what he's trying to achieve, there are lots of great opportunities to split test the information he's sending. He started with a direct mail campaign in March, and digital ads in April, and we talked about the comparison and what actually happens next. This is a great episode, really looking at strategically planning to dominate. Links: Show Notes GoGoAgent.com Be a Guest Listing Agent Lifestyle Book Listing Agent Scorecard
