Chris is joined by DSO Conductor Michelle Merrill and the DSO's new principal bassist Kevin Brown. The DSO will have three performances this weekend of Beethoven's Pastoral as well as a Concerto for double bass featuring Mr. Brown.

Violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, cellist Roman Borys and pianist James Parker of the Gryphon Trio join us for an interview from Washington. They've been together for 23 years(!) and their next performance is this Sunday at Oakland University.

Chris and percussionist Joshua Jones take a tour of the DSO's "percussion closet" and we also learn about Joshua's long journey to become part of the symphony.

French pianist Helene Grimaud will be performing the first and second Brahms Piano Concertos this weekend with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Fresh from rehearsal she explains her musical experience with Brahms.

It's the Adjunct Associate Professor of Harp and Choral Conducting at Wayne State University, the Principal harpist for the Michigan Opera Theatre and the Kresge Eminent Artist for 2017 all in one person! In the studio!

Harpist Yolanda Kondonassis and Detroit Symphony Orchestra flutist Sharon Sparrow join Chris to talk about this weekend's concerts at the DSO's Mozart Festival in Orchestra Hall.

We are joined by Detroit Symphony Orchestra music director Leonard Slatkin who talks about this weekend's concerts with Hilary Hahn and Lang Lang.

The Music Director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra stops in to tell us how his summer went and also to give us the scoop on his new book, "Leading Tones: Reflections on Music, Musicians and the Music Industry".

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is off to Asia for a two week tour and Music Director Leonard Slatkin gives us a preview of our orchestra's epic journey.
