It's a legal news stream! Testing out a show where I will run through several legal news stories and talk about them and thoughts about it without doing extremely deep dives into the law. UC Berkley has reached settlement with the Young Americas Foundation and the College Republicans. The communist Microcosm has slightly backed off and agreed to change their wrongthinking ways. Anyway, this guy took it upon himself to do a DMCA claim because TUG decided to make some videos criticizing and challenging his inane blog posts. Unfortunately, the documents for FPS Russia are boring and sparse, so we'll go through what's there and talk about the crimes. Jim Acosta and CNN have sued Trump and the White House over the revocation of Jim's Press Pass. CNN suddenly cares about free speech, weird. Do they have a case? Does Acosta have a First Amendment Right in a Press Pass? We'll see! Let's read the document and I'll tell you about the controlling case from the supreme court. New Jersey is stupid. New Jersey Just passed a law specifically targeting Defense Distributed, a company that distributes CAD files for components of 3d printed guns, among other things. The Law, as written, makes it illegal to make CAD files which could be used to print a COMPONENT of a gun "AVAILABLE" to anyone in New Jersey by any means, including the internet. Yes, folks, it's a felony for you to add a hyperlink to your blog unless you manage to black-out the entire state of New Jersey. It would be illegal for you to e-mail them, or burn it on a CD and leave it at a New Jersey bus stop. But it's just 3-5 years in prison, no big deal, right? Yeah, this law has to go, and New Jersey needs to get into the sea.
