This year we're giving attention and energy towards three main strands: connecting with God, connecting with one another, and connecting with others. In this talk James discusses how loneliness and social isolation are massive issues in society today, but we as the church have a gift - the New Testament vision is a church of interconnected people growing and going deeper with one another.

There's a well-known verse in the Bible about a cord of three strands that is not easily broken. This highlights the importance of connections in our lives. In this talk James speaks about the overall vision for CV this season: connecting with God, connecting with one other and connecting with others. Intentionally strengthening these three connections will lead to strength, growth and overflow as we follow Jesus.

Peace on earth - we hear this phrase over and over again at this time of the year, but what does it mean? There's ongoing conflict and an absence of peace both internally and socially - so what did the angels mean by peace? In this message James explores the Advent theme of peace and how it is strong, substantial and transformational in our lives!

Jesus is God in the flesh, which is mind-blowing when you pause to think about it. At Christmas we celebrate the incarnation - that God was born as a human being. In this talk Christoph highlights that in Jesus, God became like us to reconcile and rebuild.

Jesus reserved some pretty harsh language for the religious experts: the Lawyers and the Pharisees. He highlighted how instead of helping people walk with God they were actually doing the opposite, and even worse - the things they said they didn't even do themselves. There's massive pressure to be successful, to win, to achieve, to be remembered... but God invites us into a partnership of freedom, promise and potential. A partnership in which we co-labour and walk together in a loving relationship. In this message James dives into a couple of stories in Luke 9 to see how with God anything is possible!

Integrity means to be whole and undivided. It's when you do what you say you're going to do, or when what what's on the outside reflects what's going on inside. Jesus is fully integrated; he's the ultimate word-worker and He works to form us to be like Him. In this message, James kicks once again into Luke 5 to see how Jesus brings about the fundamental change that's really needed.

Two stories of two guys with two names. In Luke chapter 5 we meet Simon the fisherman and Levi the tax collector. Both men encounter Jesus, follow him (leaving everything behind), and are radically transformed. In this message James zooms in to these guys stories and how Jesus invites us, forgives us, and transforms us!

All throughout the gospels we read of Jesus praying - he prays frequently, regularly and consistently. As we follow Jesus we are called to a life of prayer. It's the key place of connection with God and from this place we're transformed to bear incredible fruit: love, joy and peace!
