This is the second instalment of our Empowered series. The Holy Spirit is a Healer, and He is moved when we exhibit faith for healing! What does faith look like? How do we know when we have REAL faith in God. In this message Matt dives into the role of faith in healing, where we expect a “yes” but at the same time are prepared for a “no”.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and is woven all through the scriptures yet often misunderstood. In this talk James focuses in on the Holy Spirit and especially the Holy Spirit's role as the revealer.

Saint Augustine famously wrote “you have made us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in Thee". Jesus Christ said “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest". We also have an inbuilt desire to do good, to make a difference, to have fruitful lives. In this message, James talks about how Jesus brings these things together in the picture of the Vineyard, and His invitation to remain and abide in Him, and out of that place live fruitful lives!

Can we be satisfied in God? Psalm 63 declares "Your unfailing love is better than life itself! On Sunday Nick (Korimako Vineyard Church) spoke about how we can seek God alone and find our thirst quenched and our hunger satisfied.

On Pentecost day 2,000 years ago, the Holy Spirit moved and brought radical life-transforming change in group of people. In this message, Matt talks from the heart about how the Holy Spirit is still moving and his desperation to see God move and see lives changed in our day.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? Who shall stand in His holy place? (Psalm 24). The answer to that question came when Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives into heaven. Now he is ruling and reigning from the throne room of God in heaven. In this message James looks at a few of the amazing, life-changing consequences of Jesus' ascension.

Throughout the Bible God is described as compassionate, and Jesus revealed what that compassion looks like in the flesh. In this message Michelle talks about the incredible compassion of God, what we can learn from Jesus and how we can have hearts of compassion for others! (Apologies for the audio quality - in some sections it cuts out a bit).

The apostle Paul talks about us being like fragile clay jars containing an amazing treasure - the good news of Jesus! In this talk James looks at how our church is like a clay jar. We spend time looking at our leadership structures, our finances for 2023, and looking forward to 2024. The dream is that we would be a church that Abides in Jesus, is a Kūaha (gateway) welcoming Jesus and his Kingdom into our city, and is a Light for Jesus in our city!

Just before Jesus ascended into heaven he commissioned his followers to go and make disciples of all the nations - this is a great calling! In this talk Gradon looks at how Jesus has a great calling for us, great empowering, and a great adventure!

There's a beautiful moment after Jesus' resurrection where he meets seven disciples at the beach and cooks them up a fish BBQ! This was just after the disciples had miraculously caught a massive load of fish (John 21). In this talk, James looks at the two miraculous fishing stories in the gospels, what we can learn about following Jesus and discovering more of God's present dynamic power today.

Jesus' resurrection changes everything. Tim Keller wrote "If Jesus rose from the dead, then you have to accept all he said; if he didn’t rise from the dead, then why worry about any of what he said?" In this message James discusses some of the evidence for the resurrection, and then turns to implications for our lives today.

In this Easter Sunday message Alex and Hannah (from Dandelion Resourcing) spoke about the hope of the resurrection and how salvation is for every aspect of our existence. We can posture ourselves before the Lord with persistence and expectation of His goodness.

In this Good Friday message, Natalya digs into the importance of perspective and perseverance as we follow Jesus even through difficult and confusing seasons.

In this message Michael (from Celebrate Messiah), talks about the significance of Palm Sunday - the day Jesus arrived into Jerusalem on a donkey, and the context of the ancient Jewish feast of Passover. Jesus really is the perfect Lamb of God!

Generosity is powerful and transformative - and flows from the heart of God! In this message James talks about the incredible generosity of God and how we can partner with him and go with the flow of his generosity, bringing light into the darkness.

Going deeper also involves digging deep. In this talk, Rosemary draws from the story (parable) Jesus told in Matthew 13 about the places good seed landed when the sower went out to sow. It's important that we do what we can to receive the good seed, and so that it grows up to bring about the purposes God intends. Digging deep is worth it!

God invites us into relationship with him - prayer is the key way that we connect with him in that relationship. As part of our Going Deeper series, Tessa digs into how we can live lives devoted to prayer.

We're continuing our series on Going Deeper into the life of God - like the trees planted by the riverbanks in Psalm 1. In this message Matt talks about how "delighting in the law of the Lord" also involves doing what God's word says - and that this leads us towards God's intention and purposes for us in our world.

The word delight means "extreme pleasure or satisfaction, joy, or something that gives great pleasure". It might be surprising that the scriptures teach us to delight in the Lord - to learn to take great pleasure in him, to enjoy his company! In this message, James dives into how God delights in us, and how we can delight in God (with a slight side-track about Turkish Delights!).

Going deeper into God, drawing from Him and His life, involves submitting our own ideas of how to live and yielding to His way. Taking our entire lives and placing them before God as an offering (Romans 12.1). In this message, James thinks about how worshipping God with all of ourselves is our purpose and our design, and that is the place of fulfilment and meaning - and life!
