Hot Take From The Kitchen

We are back this week with a very important episode.  We bring on Dr. John VanWagoner, Superintendent of Alpena Public Schools, to talk about the School Bond vote coming up this coming Tuesday, March 10th.  But first we discuss our Hot Take topics and get to know Dr. V., then get into the School Bond.  Then we finish off with our Top 5 Super Bowls.  Be aware that the audio is not the best and that the chipmunks raided the kitchen again or helium was being released during recording.  But even with these audio issues, you should still listen since the topic is so important.

It's the episode you all have been waiting for!!!!  We bring on our Mystery Guest and break the news of what organization will be the recipient of the proceeds from this year's Thunder Bay River Costume Run/Walk.  After a little snafu that nobody is able to really explain, we get into a bevy of Hot Take topics.  Then we get to know our guest and what her organization does.  We round out the episode with our Top 5 Bodies of Water.  It is an episode we have been excited about for many months and we are happy to bring to you all.

We are back once again this week with Claire LaFleur.  We talk about NBA All-Star Weekend and the Cavs coaching situation in Hot Takes, with a lengthy discussion about gloves thrown in there somewhere.  Then we get to know Claire and what brought her to Alpena.  There is a very sweet and amusing story that you don't want to miss before we get to the most contentious Top 5 we have ever had, with some interesting takes concerning Whitney Houston.  I'm not going to lie, this episode is great and there has been talk about bringing Claire on full-time as part of the podcast.  Check it out and give it a listen.  You won't be disappointed. 

Jonny makes another appearance in the Kitchen with us this week to catch up on all things sports, both local and state.  So get ready for some talk on hockey, basketball, and football.  We also talk some baseball with our Top 5 Detroit Tigers.

We bring back Jackie Krawczak this week to talk about the Super Bowl, some politics (but don't get deep into it), leadership, what she has going on in her life right now, and our Top 5 Self-Help/Personal Development books.  There is so much in this episode, I didn't want to spoil it all here.  FYI, Jackie was talking about the Murder Mystery Dinner taking place this Saturday at the Sandbar & Grill, but we had to cut it out due to some technical difficulties.  So that is why there is a gap in the last segment.

Back for the second week in a row and it won't stop here!!!!  This week we bring back once again Matt Muszynski to have him tell us about his big news for Friday night.  But first we start off with out Hot Take topics, where we talk about the film festival at NOAA last weekend, the Coronavirus, the upcoming Super Bowl, and Kobe Bryant.  Then we talk to Matt (and Steve gets something off his chest) about this coming Friday and then talk about his high school sports career.  We then finish with our Top 5 AHS athletes from 1990-2020.  It is a funny and emotional episode, so check it out.   Also, don't let the first segment audio scare you.  There was not a helium leak in the Kitchen, we just had a little audio problem we didn't know about until after we recorded the segment.  The rest of the episode is just fine and sounds amazing!!!!!

WE'RE BACK!!!!!  This week we bring on return guest Jorden Susewitz and first time guest Jordan Reynolds.  We start off with our Hot Takes to talk about EMU football, Deadpool 3, and a Time Magazine 2019 Hero.  Then Jorden and Jordan talk to us about their friendship, a premier happening on Monday at Bob's Bullpen, and film making.  Then we give our Top 5 State Parks to round out the episode.  It's a fun episode that isn't to be missed.

We are back after an extended break to bring you a  brand-new episode with our great friends Jeff and Rick.  We get a lot of things off our chests and it feels so good.  Topics discussed include Star Wars, the Alpena News Facebook comments section, Jenoris Jenkins, Boomers, and Camera Jesus.  Then we give our Top 5 Big Ten Basketball Duos.  I know you have missed us, so don't miss this episode.

Did you miss us?  Well, we are back (for a week at least) to bring you a new episode.  It is just Steve and Bradley this week and they update us on what they have been doing the past couple weeks and what lies ahead for them before the new year gets here.  Then they give their Top 5 Podcasts That They Listen To.  It's not a bad episode  and kind of informative for upcoming events in Alpena.

We are back in the Kitchen this week to close out Education Month with one of our favorites, Justin Christensen-Cooper.  We bring Justin on to talk about our Hot Takes, which include a death at a gender reveal party, Tiger's 82nd Tour victory, and Michigan and Lions football.  Just know the conversation goes in so many directions that we talk about more than just those subjects.  Then we talk to Justin about his upcoming fundraiser, Light Up the Loft, at Art in the Loft.  Then Bradley talks about his upcoming Costume Run/Walk taking place this Saturday.  We round out the episode by giving one of the greatest Top 5s we have done EVER!!!!  Even though it is a repeat topic for us, Top 5 Dad Jokes, you don't want to miss it as it is SPECTACULAR!!!!  It is a great episode and one that should be missed, so give it a listen.

We continue Education month this week by bringing Shelly Cornish and John Caplis into the Kitchen.  We start the episode off with Hot Take topics of South Park, Joker (don't worry, we offer up no spoilers), the State Theater, and a couple other topics.  We then get to know Shelly and John a little more and then find out more about the project they have their students participating in this year, which is kind of exciting.  We round out the episode with our Top 5 Excuses for No Homework and what we have planned for this weekend.

This week we bring Tom Berriman into the Kitchen.  To start off, we talk about impeachment, football, "Edge" cities, the Flinstones, and Bradley's vacation in the Hot Takes.  Then we get to know Tom, how he ended up in Alpena, and some of his thoughts on education.  We finish out the episode with our Top 5 Albums.  It is a great, can't-miss episode.

We bring Amy Martin back on this week to talk with us and we are happy we did.  We start off with our wide ranging Hot Take topics, which includes an epic rant by Steve, so that is can't miss already.  Then Amy tells us the details on the Color Run she is putting on this weekend in memory of her dad.  We also learn more about what all happened when her dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.  It gets deep, so be prepared.  We round out the episode with our Top 5 Autumn Activities, which also goes in many directions.  It is a great episode and a definite can't miss!!!

Hey!!!!!  We!!!!  Are!!!!  Back!!!!!  This week we bring on Corey Standen, a jack of all kinds of trades.  We start off with a listener email from a couple of weeks ago, the CVB: Santuary of the Great Lakes - Alpena trivia questions, and then our Hot Take topics.  Then we get to know Corey and learn more about what he does, his farm and pigs, and then the Alpena Farmers' Market.  We round out the episode with our Top 5 Farm Animals, with Steve and Bradley having two very different lists for two very different reasons, and what we have going on this weekend.  It is a fun and kind of exciting episode.  So give it a listen.
