Sinopsis

Getting into Scripture daily is tough! I recently felt convicted about how low on my priority list spending time with God had become. I made it a priority and through this regular reading, I wanted an outlet to share my thoughts on what I have read. So, for what it's worth, these are my thoughts on Bible verses that I have recently read and had an impact on me.https://www.dailychristianpodcast.com/

  • (108) Routine

    07/07/2018 Duración: 03min

Why does it take a life disaster to get our attention sometimes? God wants a relationship with us and has paid the price to make it a possibility! Does our routine get in the way? Do we need something to interrupt it to snap us out of the daze of life we live in? Acts 16:27 " The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. ." #God #jesuschrist #bible #dailydevotional #scripture #podcast #christianpodcast #jail #routine #interrupt https://www.dailychristianpodcast.com https://www.facebook.com/dailychristianpodcast/ https://www.instagram.com/dailychristianpodcast/

  • (107) Relationships Are Messy

    06/07/2018 Duración: 04min

The people in your life will/can make your life more rewarding or more difficult. They can be the most difficult part of your day or could make your day! The fact of the matter is, relationships are messy. We are all different, these differences when worked through can make life better but also can make it difficult. I am encouraged through Acts 15 as Barnabas and the Apostle Paul have an argument, even more so that the Apostle Paul still speaks highly of Barnabas in letters written later. Even through their disagreements, they still have integrity when speaking about one another to others, what an example to live by! I am reminded in the Chapter that all we need is faith, nothing else, nothing. Thanks for tuning into this 5-minute episode! • (106) You Can't Earn It

    05/07/2018 Duración: 05min

Have you ever had a moment when you realized that you are not good enough? I have, then I remember that Christ sacrificed to fix all my flaws, all the times I missed the mark (sinned), to make me good enough. It is dangerous when we mix up the order of how things work though. It is through faith we are saved. In our salvation we are being sanctified and renewed, this causes life change including our actions. James describes it as "good works," and says it is proof of faith. However, it can be dangerous to do "good works" thinking that it brings salvation. I personally believe that a massive amount of people fall into this category. I am reminded in the Chapter that all we need is faith, nothing else, nothing. Thanks for tuning into this 5-minute episode! Acts 15:1,9

  • (105) Safe vs Impactful life

    04/07/2018 Duración: 04min

Think back to all the decisions you have made to get to where you are in life. Have you been choosing the safe option over the options that involve more risk? Has fear held you back... ever? Thanks for tuning into this 4-minute episode! Acts 14:19-20 "Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. • (104) Who am I living for?

    03/07/2018 Duración: 04min

In a world that is encouraging to live a life glorifying yourself, as well as a natural sinful nature to also desire self-worship, it is impressive to see Barnabas and the apostle Paul refused to take credit for anything that God had done through them. Thanks for tuning into this 4-minute episode! Acts 14:14 "14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothesand rushed out into the crowd, shouting..." • (103) Coexist Bumper Stickers...

    02/07/2018 Duración: 04min

Have you ever seen those coexist bumper stickers? Those really get on my nerves, not because I don't think it is important to "get along" or "be nice" to each other, but because I think it has an underlying message, that you do not have to decide. To me, that is basically saying "what you believe does not really matter." Thanks for tuning into this 4-minute episode! Acts 14:4 "The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles." What do you think? • (102) Unshakable Joy

    01/07/2018 Duración: 04min

The Disciples are out there sharing their faith and it can seem odd that even when they go places and do not get the result that you would expect them to get, they still were filled with Joy, how is this possible? Thanks for tuning into this 5-minute episode! Acts 13:52 "And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit." Are you happy with your life? Is it because you have not had the results you were expecting in your life? For the Disciples of the first century church, you see them filled with Joy regardless of circumstance, listen in on why I think that is... #God #jesuschrist #bible #dailydevotional #scripture #podcast #christianpodcast #happylife #joy https://www.dailychristianpodcast.com https://www.facebook.com/dailychristianpodcast/ https://www.instagram.com/dailychristianpodcast/

  • (093) Mistakes... Be sure to avoid this one!

    22/06/2018 Duración: 07min

Chapters 6 and 7 of Acts shows us the impactful life of Stephan. After falsely jailed, he spoke to those accusing him, quoting scripture he showed them the mistakes that they were repeating from those before them. They did not recognize God! Acts 7:51-53 "“You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him— you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.”” Let's make this more than knowledge, let's make it a relationship! • (092) Completion

    21/06/2018 Duración: 06min

When the Apostles go to jail for sharing their faith, when they miraculously get out of jail, they immediately go back to the place where they were arrested to complete what they started! Acts 5:19-20 "But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.”” God has a plan for you, may we be more like the Apostle willing to go after our calling without regard of worldly consequence and allow God to use us in whatever way He wills. • (091) Jealousy

    20/06/2018 Duración: 04min

Is our life about us or is it about God? When your focus becomes God, I find it difficult to believe that you could be jealous of anything. Acts 5:17 "Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy.” Can you think of any reason for any of us to be jealous of one another? If our life is to Glorify God, there is no reason for us to envy those who are not glorifying God with their life. Then when there are those who are, we should celebrate because God is being glorified. • (090) When Lying Kills

    19/06/2018 Duración: 05min

I kind of feel bad reading about Ananias and Sapphira, I can, unfortunately, relate to them on some level. It's easy to throw them under the bus. Acts 5:1-5 "Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died..." Let's live open and honestly with our lives!
