We talked here and there but only briefly, and only about our three girls. It felt so awkward being in the physical presence of my wife and yet shut away from her emotionally and physically. Dealing with a spouse who wants divorce and then living with her at the time was draining the life out of me. I had no clue if all my praying and all my changes were doing anything for my marriage, but what I did know was my wife did not want me, at all. Not the type of physical attraction you experience with someone you feel good around. The rejection came off to me more like, “I choose to be sexual, just not with you.” A stage I wasn’t ready or prepared to be a part of, mainly in part because I was still very attracted to my wife. Fights and arguments between my wife and I had swelled into mountain of resentment for one another, so much that we were in the same home and couldn't so much as look at one another. It involved my grandmother and her wanting the family to make preparations in the event of her passing. No one ever wants to have those types of discussions--and for good reasons-- but a huge part of life is death. My Grandmother is in the midst of making her own choices and has found peace with them. After hearing the news from my father, he explained how he felt about the whole ordeal and how he is working to process the passing of our families matriarch... Felt real good to move around and workout without bumping into empty boxes or stepping on my youngest daughters toys. But the past weeks clutter battle brought an old yet refreshing memory to me. Back almost three years ago, my wife and I were returning home from our night classes. We were in the midst of arranging our futures as separated spouses, it seems silly now but we were just so sure separation was the most logical move to make. I was still trying my hardest not to show too much emotion over those kind of conversations, leaning more on GOD felt pointless to me really after so much time passed... Digging the content? Spreading chaos and disarray between you and your spouse, tearing apart your happy home and spreading lies about you using the very person you vowed to spend your life with. My brother, consider this one natural disaster of the world: the tornado. Powerful and unrelenting in it's path of destruction, there isn't much man made objects or structures that can withstand the force of the tornado. With enough power and gust, a neighborhood is decimated in minutes leaving almost nothing behind. Mankind has bared witness to the aftermath of the tornado for eons, and yet we are willing to rebuild and continue living.  So, how is mankind capable of such resiliency?  One Word. Faith. You should know that there is no "one way" to live with these types of partners. There are some positive ways and then there are some not so positive ways to maintain a marriage with this spouse.
