Starting off our Advent celebration by looking at the prophecy from Isaiah concerning John the Baptist and God saving his people

Finishing up the series on the instructions to the early church by looking at Paul's charge for the Philippians to press on to the goal of the upward call to glory. As believers we continue to keep our eyes on Jesus and watch those who model the faith for us. 

Today we look at a famous trilogy from Paul and the early church to understand how he is commending the Thessalonians in their evangelism and being the hands and feet of Christ.

Finishing up the deeper dive into Romans 12, we look at the issue of vengeance and the temptation to repay evil for evil. It is a common thing in our world, but the Lord instructs us to live peaceably with all if it is possible, so much as it depends on ourselves.

Continuing our deeper look into Romans 12, we discuss the impact that Pride has on our witnesses and walk. As Christians we are called to humility and harmony.

We are starting a deeper dive in Romans 12 looking at the early church instructions when it comes to handling good and evil. Paul starts the section out with 13 exhortations about living the Christian life.

Today we talk about suffering in the flesh as Christ did, arming ourselves with the same mindset that he had. We look at 1 Peter 4 to see more instructions to the early church and what they were to put off and put on. 

Finishing the look at what the early church in Colossae is to be about in Ch. 3 as Paul tells the church to let the Peace of Christ rule in their hearts. We breakdown this meaning for the application of peace in our own lives. 

Continuing in Colossians 3 and looking at Paul's instructions for the early church of what to put on. He also continues the reaffirmation of their identity in Christ. 

Paul calls on the believers in the early church to put to death what is earthly you. He then gives some examples for them to consider in their own lives. We too must set our minds on things above, and seek the things above as believer's whose life is hidden in Christ.

Today we start a deep dive into Colossians 3 and focus on our identity in Christ and the commands given by Paul to Seek the Lord and Set your minds on things above. 

Finishing up the look at Putting others over ourselves, we study the meaning of weak and strong and how as believers we need to encourage one another into the hope of Christ, patiently enduring as we trust in the word of God. 

Today we look at Paul's continued push to think of others over yourself, but this time in the area of humility based on Philippians 2. 

Paul consistently teaches the church to look to the needs of others, over their own. Each time there is a little different emphasis on the area that they focus on. Today in 1 Cor. 10 we look at the liberties that we have in Christ, and how to not abuse them to make others stumble. 

Today we look at the early church in the letter to the Hebrews to discuss the confidence that they had to enter boldly into the throne room of God through the blood of Christ. Understanding confidence correctly will allow us to be healthy in our approach to drawing near to God, holding fast to the confession we have, and stirring each other up in love and good works.

Starting a new series on the early church and discovering what it is they were about, and how they were encouraged to live by Paul and the other authors of the New Testament

We close up our series on the gifts by finishing 1 Cor. 14. We look at the type of worship that Paul had in mind for Corinth. 

Today we look at Paul's charge to use intelligible speech in a church service in order to build up a body. This was a key point for him to make to the Corinthian church

Today we look at Paul's argument of how love is the more excellent way to live because it is eternal, compared to the temporal spiritual gifts. As he corrects the thinking of the Corinthians, we too need to acknowledge what we prop up in place of love in our life. 

Today we look a little closer at the body motif that Paul uses to describe the church and the desired oneness that God has for believers. Oneness is achieved through the Spirit and it is diverse. The Body is made up of many smaller parts functioning as a whole. The church needs to be the same way.
