As anthropogenic actions are increasingly identified as leading causes of global warming; we are gaining unprecedented information about individual impact and societal implications of climate change. While increasing awareness could enable ever greater participation of the wider public through discourses, dialogues and other forms of civic engagement; the physical nature of reality marches on regardless. Today at SRM we dissect the con-current narratives and explore counter-narratives around anthropocentric solutions for sustainable development and its consequences.

School started again and the summerbreak is over for most of us. During the Urban Hour this week we talk about everything that happened over the summer! There's been new releases the past month and the long expected album of Kanye West finally came out! And besides that we'll discuss how it felt to go on a holiday during this period. The show ends with a quick recap of last weekend and a shout out to all the amazing communities in Maastricht, that kept doing what they do during this challenging summer.

After over 1.5y of no festivals and concerts you would almost forget there's still new music being created...but not here at Student Radio Maastricht! Our first hour this week is dedicated to Music from Maasi! We have local artist Papi "Cali Cali" aka Calito joining us in the studio, to give us all the ins and outs on his new single release. He's joined by his Colombian protégés Javi and Luis, who will tell us more about their collabs and how they're creating music here in Maastricht. So stay tuned for some fresh tunes from our city!

Ever wondered what it's like to be a sorority/fraternity member or why do they have this crazy initiation process? In this episode we discuss the life and role of fraternities/sororities within universities. As the new school year approaches, sororities and fraternities throughout the city have been busy recruiting new members and today we have the founding members of @philiamaastricht to share their experiences of being a sorority. During the second hour, we introduce some of the student organizations that you can join as a first year student (and not only!). These are usually centered around common interests or passions: activism, sustainability, spirituality, music, sports, debates etc. The majority of them are open for international students, surely there is something for everyone in Maastricht! Together with Kimberly, Juliana and Selina, who all choose to research sustainable topics for their thesises, we will look into urban farming, sustainable fashion and DIY projects. After this show you will know what to do to become a sustainable student yourself!

This week we will talk about tech surveillance and its potential consequences for our human experiences. Global mass surveillance has divided society into the watchers and the watched.
