Lies is a full professor at Maastricht University in the department of literature and art. She is researching Dutch colonial history, as a professor in cultural memory: gender and diversity. We talk about what adoption is, and what it means to be adopted and to grow up in a non-traditional family. Professor Lies Wesseling gives us all the ins and outs on this topic, also from the perspective of our colonial history.
