In this relaunch of the Privateer Island podcast, we start gearing up for the upcoming basketball season with a discussion of the list (to date) of the top 50 Privateer men's basketball players of all-time, leading up to the tipoff of the 2019-20 basketball season. We also touch on new Green Wave coach Ron Hunter's bizarre declaration that Tulane (TULANE!) is anyone's "big brother," let alone ours, in a blatant ploy to fire up the rivalry again.  Okay, maybe it kinda worked. In this edition of the Privateer Island podcast, we discuss everything lilacs, including growth tips and one incredibly hot take on pruning strategies.   No, just kidding, it's all about the Southland tournament and UNO winning it and the whole first-NCAA-berth-in-21-years thing, with a look at first round opponent Mount St. Mary's and the potential next matchup against (gulp) defending national champion Villanova and beyond.  We don't even mention lilacs once, actually.

The Privateer Island podcast returns with a Southland Conference basketball tournament preview. UNO's special 2016-17 title run, the upcoming league tournament, and college basketball tournaments in general are discussed.  Near the end, the conversation touches on the early fortunes of the Privateer baseball team.

After achieving the school's first conference tournament victory since 2008, Coach Mark Slessinger's Privateers enter 2015-16 looking to build on that success.  We discuss the mostly stable youthful-turned-veteran roster and the schedule for the upcoming year.

We lead off with a brief discussion of the suddenly interesting UNO women's basketball program, which improbably won six of its final nine contests of 2014-15 after six wins in the previous four seasons combined.   Following that is a preview of the Southland Conference men's basketball tournament.
