This week, guest speaker Ben Welchman from City Church Bristol continued our series on the Trinity, exploring Jesus’ words, “I and the Father are one.” Jesus wasn’t just claiming to be close to God—He was revealing that He and the Father share the same divine nature: one true God, revealed as Father, Son, and Spirit, who calls us to know Him personally.

Nathan has just joined the Life Church staff as a ‘Staff Elder’. His role has grown since it was first advertised as Children and Youth Coordinator. This message cuts straight to the heart of why we need Jesus: our sin is an act of personal rebellion against a holy God, and we can't escape the just punishment we deserve. Alex shows that only Jesus, being both God and man, could fix this by becoming our substitute on the cross.

Joshua unpacks Philippians 2 to show how Jesus — fully God and fully human — reveals the heart of the Trinity. Christ’s humility isn’t just theology; it’s the self-giving love that saves us and shapes how we live in unity and worship today.

This week, our Trinity series focuses on the Son: Jesus Christ. The message tackles the essential truth of the hypostatic union: Jesus must be 100% God and 100% man simultaneously. If He is any less, His sacrifice would not be effective. Because He is fully God, His death offers the "God-sized solution" required for our sin. Because He is fully human, He is a sympathetic Saviour "acquainted with our suffering." This dual nature is the only basis for secure salvation.

From New York Si shares stories from visits to different churches in the area, encounters with strangers at home and abroad, prayer and bold expressions of devotion.

Our focus here is on the baptism of Jesus and how this unique moment teaches us about the very nature of God, as all three members of the Trinity are revealed. This Sunday included a number of baptisms. Chris explains the meaning of baptism and why we celebrate such occasions to this day.

Drawing from John 14, we see how the Father, Son, and Spirit work together so that God Himself makes His home within us. Through Jesus’s death and resurrection, the gap between heaven and earth is gone. The Trinity is not a mystery to solve, it is the Gospel itself: God coming near so eternal life with Him begins now.

God eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—distinct yet one—living in perfect love and glory. Out of that love He created us and calls us to know Him, worship Him, and join Him in fellowship.

God the Father gives us life, adopts us into His family through Christ, and lovingly shapes and disciplines us so we become like Jesus.

We all have ideas about God—and those ideas shape how we live. Knowing Him as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit brings our lives into alignment with the reality we were created for, while false ideas can cause harm. In the opening message of our new series, Si Munsie shows that exploring the mystery of the Trinity may be challenging, but it’s a pursuit worth every step as we come to know and worship the one God who reveals Himself as one being, in three persons.

Self-control is listed as the last fruit of the Spirit. Drawing on examples from Paul, Joseph, David, and Jesus, this message shows that self-control both protects us from sin and empowers us to choose what is right. If we feel out of control, the Holy Spirit can help find the freedom and control that Christ provides.

This message explores the difference between fleeting worldly joy and the deep, lasting joy that comes from the Spirit. Even our sorrow, when sown in the hope we have in Jesus, produces a joy that endures through every season.

Gentleness is not weakness—it’s strength under control. In Jesus we see true gentleness, from His shepherd-like care to His mercy for the hurting. This same gentleness grows in us through the Spirit as we walk with Him each day.

Many of us desire to experience peace, especially in such a chaotic world. This message challenges the worldly view of peace as momentary escape or the absence of conflict. Instead, the biblical perspective reveals there is a profound, reconciling presence found only through a restored relationship with God that gives us true peace.

Patience isn’t just waiting — it’s longsuffering in trials and forbearance with others’ flaws. In this episode on the Fruit of the Spirit, we explore God’s unshakable patience toward His people, the endurance of Jesus on the cross, and how the Spirit grows that same steadfast love in us as we trust His plans and bear with one another.

God alone is steadfast in His love and faithfulness. To be faithful is a high calling and cannot be done alone. We need the Holy Spirit to be present and at work in our lives to see this precious fruit grow.

There are moments in church life that should rightly make us just pause and reflect. In this message Simon speaks into the hard reality of death and loss, asking ‘what are we choosing to build our lives on?’. The foundation we choose will greatly affect our response when the unimaginable happens.

Here, Abigail emphasizes that true kindness is not weak or superficial but a deep, strong, and sacrificial attribute of God, most powerfully shown through Jesus’ love and vulnerability on the cross.

This message explores what true goodness is by pointing to God as the ultimate source, challenging the idea that we can be good on our own, and showing how the Spirit produces goodness in us when we stay close to Jesus. God's goodness flows through our lives into tangible, loving action.
