Story Talk By Laura Randle

Sinopsis

Every story has something to say - opinions to promote, behaviors to exemplify, values to emphasize - but how many of us spend the time after viewing a story to crack open the stories we consume and figure out what they have taught us? What were the themes? What were the symbols? What did the character dynamics try to tell us about ourselves or other people? Our world is full of stories, but not full of understanding. Learning to think about stories is an essential step towards understanding our media, understanding each other, and understanding ourselves. With Story Talk, Laura cracks open one story at a time, examining the major questions, themes, symbols, and character dynamics and what they seem to be saying in their given context. Story Talk is designed to be a kind of "digestive enzyme" for stories, but hopefully, the conversation won't stop after the episode.
