"In Other Words ..."
20/08/2014 Duración: 56minMarketing is everything. No less than Dan Kennedy, one of the top marketers and copywriters in the world, acknowledges Charlie McDermott as one of the best. Charlie built his first company as an undergrad, then sold it years later for many millions and turned his skills to marketing his actor son, who is now a regular on a hit sitcom, proving it's the marketing, not the product. Now, through his Business and Entrepreneur Network (BEN), he's making it available to all of us, through seminars, webinars, and books.

The Tufts Get Going! "Modern-Day Megaliths"
20/08/2014 Duración: 01h00s9 am Wednesdays, "The Tufts Get Going!" host Rosanna Tufts Think Stonehenge is only for primitive peoples? Guess again! For the past 20 years, Four Quarters Farm in Pennsylvania has been building a NEW megalithic stone circle, the first one being built on this continent in 2000 years! Using only primitive tools like sledges, logs, and block-and-tackle, a couple hundred people get together every Labor Day weekend to add more multi-ton stones to the circle, in a project worthy of a Discovery Channel documentary. Sophia Kelly Shultz, a board member of Four Quarters, joins me today to talk about the project and about the Farm itself, a year-round facility for Earth Religions. The next Stones Rising is August 27-September 1 -- you can register at www.4QF.org!

"In Other Words…" Blake Wollman and The Wild Pea
13/08/2014 Duración: 01h01minThe Wild Pea. Boy, that's an interesting image, isn't it? The pea is a chick pea, the stuff that hummus is made of. It's wild because there are no limits to what kinds of flavors they'll develop. Founder and owner Blake Wollman thought, "Why can't you make chocolate hummus? Or Bloody Mary? How about cotton candy…? Chocolate? Why not! He owned The Desert Cafe in Mt. Washington in Baltimore, for over twelve years. By the time he sold the restaurant in May of this year, he had been doing almost all of the cooking and all of the desserts. He started The Blakery – and is that a clever name or what? – to promote his desserts. His tenure with the restaurant got him interested in hummus, a staple of middle-eastern cuisine. After trying hundreds of flavor combination, he's settled on eight that are always in the lineup, with others - like mojito and carrot cake - rotating in and out. He's going to talk with us about how this all got started. He's got excellent marketing skills and we'll talk a lo

The Tufts Get Going! "Suicide: Choice or Compulsion?"
13/08/2014 Duración: 57min9 am Wednesdays, "The Tufts Get Going!" host Rosanna Tufts "Suicide: Choice, or Compulsion?" Normally this is a show about people who make their dreams come true. But what about people who have lost their dreams? In only a few days, the internet has exploded with grief over the death of Robin Williams -- and controversy, as certain pundits have made disgracefully uncompassionate comments like "He made his choice." Uh, excuse me? Today, I read another excerpt from my forthcoming "Blue Blood, Green Heart," taking you back to the dark days of my own near-suicide. Was it a choice, or a compulsion? Then we'll take a look at Robin Williams' astrology chart, and the factors that pushed him over the edge after a 35-year career of comedy.

06/08/2014 Duración: 57min9 am Wednesdays, "The Tufts Get Going!" host Rosanna Tufts "Blue Blood, Green Heart:" What happens when a Boston Brahmin turns into a Bohemian? This week is my 30th anniversary of the first Pagan Gathering I ever went to, back when there was no Internet to help like-minded Nature Mystics find each other.
