Resonate Community Church

Sin not only separates, it also put's each of us in the cross hairs of God's sights. We are desperately in need of the Mercy of God as a result. We can be abundantly thankful for everything the scriptures say about God's Mercy toward us!

In the first chapter of Paul's first letter to the church at Thessalonica, he relates the spiritual fruit that motivate his Thanksgiving for them. He goes on to relate how the faith of these young believers has resonated out across Asia Minor. If there's one thing we at Resonate want to do, it's resonate the message of God great grace to the world around us.

The final S in our cycle of growth is Seek. Jesus came to see and save the lost and we're charged with the same responsibility...seeking the lost. (NOTE: The introduction is missing from the recording, our apologies)

Having Seen, Savored and submitted to Jesus, the only natural response is to serve Him. Our service is to be focused on the body of Christ as we bring glory to God.

Seeing and savoring someone or something should have a natural result, we should be drawn to some kind of commitment, or in the case of faith in Christ, a submission to Him and His will. Throughout our lives we should constantly be in the process of submitting more and more of our lives to Christ as our Savior.

Resonate Community Church

As we continue our series on the 5 S's at Resonate we look at the importance of Savoring. That we must learn to savor Jesus as the greatest of all treasures and delights.

Gideon provides an example of what our Mighty God can do in and through us when we truly come to see Him.

We're reminded in the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego that the conflict between Man and God, between the Kingdom of God and the kingdoms of Men will continue until the day the Lord Jesus Christ returns. Until then, we must stand!

God is Love. Absolutely true, but often misunderstood or taught in such a manner as to make it God one supreme characteristic above all others. God is love and we do well to study and understand exactly what this means to us today.

Here in Romans 15 we can see 5 crucial points of Paul's strategy in reaching others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Making much of Jesus Christ by leading others to the delight and satisfaction of true life in Him is the mission statement we use here at Resonate. This morning we will review the basis for this statement and remind ourselves of the significance of drinking deeply of the spring of living water.

Here at the end of the book of Acts Luke records for us the final steps in Paul's long journey to Rome. After taking all of three days off, Paul gets back to work ministering to the local Jews as well as anyone else that stopped in to visit Him. As we sit back and apply this passage we find some profound truths that will help us as we face the uncertainty of life.

A two week storm ends with Paul and the ship he's traveling in washed up on the shore of Malta, a small island that definitely wasn't on Paul's agenda. In this short Passage we see that in spite of the plans of Man, God had a bigger and better plan for the people of this little island.

Is God a God of Love? Absolutely, but He is also a God of great wrath. In fact, there are more references in scripture to the wrath of God than to His love! This morning we study this crucial aspect of the character of our God.

As Paul heads for Rome, Luke dedicates this entire chapter to the events surrounding the shipwreck on Malta. Not only does this chapter encourage our faith in how precise and accurate God's revelation is, it also demonstrates for us the great hope that we have through God's Word and how we can take that hope to others around us.

If we really believe something is absolutely true, we will act upon it. In Acts 24-26 we find Paul before Felix, Festus and Agrippa. We watch them as they listen to Paul's testimony but what really shows their hearts is how they respond to the truth. How do we respond to truth?

It's fair to say that the central distinctive feature of genuine Christianity is our emphasis on GRACE, God's grace to us in Jesus Christ. That's what it's all about!

Right from the very beginning of his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul makes it clear what is at the center of all things...the cross of Christ. While the wise philosophers of this world may see the cross as complete foolishness, Paul makes it clear that it is life for us who believe. That through the cross, Christ has become our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.

In this most wonderful passage of scripture, Paul takes us from the Graveyard to glory. From our hopeless and lost condition to the glories of heaven through our Savior Jesus Christ. How is this possible? Because of the rich mercy and love poured out upon us...for by Grace you are saved!!
