But thanks to the wonders that are the Google machines, we were able to have Cullen join us in all of his oversized glory on the projection screens in the panel room. So you still get all three of us for the price of ... nothing! This podcast is still free to each and every one of you, our loyal listeners. So how was your weekend? Because ours was pretty incredible! John got hugs from Doug Jones, Jerry chatted it up with a not-so-silent Silent Bob, and Cullen found a motherlode of Who's Who issues in a Portland dollar box. In this episode, we chat up all things Kansas City Comic Con and Frankenstein's Comic Swap. We go over our panels, including the incredible WCPE panel which can be found in our podcast feed next week. We talk about the friends we saw throughout the weekend, and the new friends we met along the way. John did do some work along the way, getting out the recorder to talk to Doug Jones, one of the stars of Star Trek: Discovery. Despite some technical glitches, the guys made it work for a quick interview with a truly wonderful person. John presents the guys with a Marvel panel quiz, and Jerry receives an early birthday present from the guys. All in all, it's a pretty darn good show, if we do say so ourselves. It's another busy weekend for the guys at the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! So give this show a listen right away to stay caught up with us for the next three days. It's the weekend before Halloween and the guys from the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! have bats on their minds. Specifically Batman! We are talking a bunch of Batman this week, with our favorite writers, artists, and stories from the last 75 years.  We also recap John and Jerry's trip to Freestate Comicon last weekend and look ahead to the upcoming weekend, with our trip downtown to Clint's Comics for the Halloweenfest going on at comic book stores all around the country. Over the last couple of weeks, the guys of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! have been busy reading comics and watching the fall TV shows.  But we haven't talked much about the upcoming movies. So today's episode has the guys looking at the slew of recent trailers for comic-book related films coming out in the next six months. It is so much fun to be able to bring one of our favorite creators onto the show to talk comics or movies or even the Hero Initiative. It's even more fun when we can talk about all three of those things with a favorite creator. Such is the case this week as the guys sit down with Dan Brereton. See, for more than 20 years, Cullen has been a huge fan of Dan's work, going back to his original Nocturnals series. Since then, we have seen his work on Thrillkiller, Legends of the Dark Knight, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and so many more books. Along the way, Dan became a regular contributor the Hero Initiative's 100 Cover projects. Tonight, Dan will be in Portland at a special screening of the 1982 movie John Carpenter's The Thing in 70mm. Following the showing, Dan and other artists will be signing The Thing: Artbook, which features 375 images inspired by the movie. It's another busy week at the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! Let's cut out the jibber-jabber and get right into the podcast, OK? First up is John's interview with artist Morgan Beem, whose work you will see next week with the release of The Family Trade #1 by Image Comics. The guys got to meet Morgan at Rose City Comic Con last month and fell in love with her artwork. John interviewed Morgan before she took off for New York Comic Con, which is going on right now! It only took 172 episodes, but we finally -- FINALLY -- got comic book writer Jai Nitz on the line with us to talk comics. Specifically his new comic Fu Jitsu from Aftershock Comics. This book has been in the making for 10 years, going through multiple revisions before arriving at your local comic shop this week. In this book, Fu Jitsu is the world’s smartest boy and has been for the last hundred years. Yes, this book is crazy like that. The 2017 Rose City Comic Con is in the books, and the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is proud to have been right in the middle of it all. Over the weekend, we spent three incredible days working the Hero Initiative booth, managing donation buckets in artist alley, and meeting some of the coolest comic fans in America. Oh yeah, and we also spent some time with creator Dave Gibbons. Yes, that DAVE GIBBONS! We took some time out on Sunday afternoon to sit down with Dave and chat for a few minutes about Watchmen, Superman Annual #11 and his work on the big screen. We are super-excited to have comic creator Jeremy Haun on the show with us this week. Jeremy (along with Seth Peck, Nick Filardi, and Thomas Mauer) is launching a new book for Image Comics later this month. The Realm #1 hits shelves on September 13, but we get Jeremy to reveal all of the secrets from the first issue.... Well, maybe just some of the secrets..... Truth be told, he didn't tell us a lot about it so we will have to buy this book from him Jeremy will be going on a book tour this month to promote The Realm, including stops at Rose City Comic Con in Portland and Elite Comics in Overland Park. We are back in the recording studios with a big stack of brand new comics to talk about. On top of the pile is the new Mister Miracle book from DC Comics. Creators Tom King and Mitch Gerads (The Sheriff of Babylon) are back giving their spin on a classic Kirby creation. This book is beautiful and amazing and disturbing, sometimes all on the same page. Another busy week for the guys of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, and the schools haven't even started yet! Get comfortable as this is going to be a fun, but busy show. We start out with an interview with writer/artist Bruce McCorkindale, whose brand new version of The Falling Man is now available on Comixology. This is a project that has bounced around over the last two decades, but now it is fully finished in color and available in the digital format. We discuss the history of The Falling Man, working with Phil Hester, and Bruce's cover re-creations. Next, the guys FINALLY wrap up their summer reading program with the final installment of AvX. It took us 77 issues over eight weeks time but we have reached the end. At this point, it's not a matter of who won or who lost, it's that we finished the story.  We sprinkle in some discussion of Mark Millar's deal with Netflix and what titles we would like to see developed into TV shows, as well as discuss the new costume identity for Batman's new partner Duke.  W
