She discovered she had complex post-traumatic stress disorder from when she was a child. In an attempt to recover, she spent about a year and a half trying different ways to heal from her trauma. She wrote a book called “No, I'm Not Fine. Thank You.” In this book, Laura talks about how she got better from her old wounds and became strong again. • Digital Detox Mindfulness

    21/08/2023 Duración: 12min

Today I’m discussing Digital Detox Mindfulness. In today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, a lot of people are constantly connected to their devices. This can cause problems, including stress, distraction, and reduced well-being. It can be a huge benefit to disconnect from your screens or reduce screen time, even if it’s just for a short period. My conversation today is about finding balance in the digital age. I will be discussing strategies to create tech-free zones or time blocks, cultivating awareness of the impact of technology on mental health, and maybe sharing a few personal stories of the benefits gained from unplugging. • A Most Shocking Element Of Mindfulness

    14/08/2023 Duración: 10min

A most shocking element of mindfulness that many of my Mindful Tribe followers find surprising is the concept of “Non-Striving.” This focuses on letting go of the constant need to achieve or attain specific outcomes. In a world driven by goals and accomplishments, the idea of intentionally not striving for something might seem counterintuitive, yet, it holds a profound wisdom. Exploring the practice of Non-Striving in mindfulness can reveal how letting go of the relentless pursuit of results can lead to greater contentment and inner peace. By simply being present in the moment and accepting things as they are, individuals can discover a sense of fulfillment without the pressure of always striving for more. This counter-cultural approach can offer a fresh perspective on how mindfulness encourages us to find value in the present rather than constantly chasing future achievements. Today, I’m sharing three key points about the surprising element of mindfulness known as the concept of “Non-Striving” Listen & S

  • Music For Meditation; Kevin Roth

    10/08/2023 Duración: 38min

Kevin Roth began to play the dulcimer in 1972 at the age of thirteen and is now known for his dulcimer music for meditation. • Mindfulness; 3 Core Elements

    07/08/2023 Duración: 11min

Three core elements of mindfulness is the topic of today's episode. At its simplest level, to be mindful is to pay attention on purpose. To be aware, to breathe, to be still, and to observe. Mindfulness is also to experience what is happening in this very moment in time. Mindfulness is to accept without judgment the thoughts and emotions you experience. Listen & Subscribe on: iTunes / Stitcher / Podbean / Overcast / Spotify 1/ Being Present Mindfulness is about being fully present and aware of what's happening right now. It's like focusing on the present moment on purpose. By doing this, you can learn more about yourself, your thoughts, and your biases. Instead of dwelling on the past or constantly thinking about the future, mindfulness helps us stay in the “now.” When you practice mindfulness, you pay attention to what you're doing or feeling at the moment. This can be as simple as focusing on your breathing. For example, you can say to yourself, “I am breathing in, I am breathing out” as you take slow b

Cooking and Mindfulness is the topic of today’s episode. Cooking can give you focus and groundedness, as well as a feeling of choice. You can choose how you feel about cooking and decide to use it as an activity you feel good about. Choice Like I said, you have freedom and choice when you are cooking. • The Mindfulness of Yard Care

    24/07/2023 Duración: 09min

Mindfulness and Yard Care is the topic of today’s episode. Taking care of the yard can have a strong element of mindfulness to it, and that’s exactly why I decided to focus on the mindfulness of yard care for today’s episode. I’m talking particularly about looking after your plants and flowers. I still spend a lot of time looking after my yard today, and I find it to be quite a mindful experience. It involves planting and watering the flowers and trimming bushes and shrubs. Safety First If you’re practicing mindfulness while doing a task like grasscutting, your safety is the most important element to be concerned about. Wear steel-toed boots and long pants to be as safe as possible. Your mind should always be first and foremost on the task at hand. For today’s episode, I will mostly talk about planting and caring for flowers around your property. • Birds and Mindfulness

    10/07/2023 Duración: 15min

Birds and mindfulness is the topic of today's episode. You might remember me telling you about planting various flowers around my house and how having plants around me adds to the mindfulness in my life. Well, back in May, I made a new flower bed just for Black-Eyed Susans. Every time I look out our big window into the backyard, I see the beautiful bright yellow-orange flowers. Well this episode isn’t about flowers, it’s about birds, but they are closely related, at least in my mind. When I got married, I discovered my new in-laws were avid bird-watchers. When my wife and I would visit my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, we’d be deep in conversation, and suddenly everyone would run to the window to see a specific kind of bird that had appeared at the bird feeder. The conversation would be immediately redirected. This was all new for me. In the past, my wife’s aunt June would watch and count birds for certain organizations, I think, BirdLife International or Birdcount.org. I was always amazed that she knew abo
