From East Texas. Lived in Houston/Katy for the past 11 years during which time I was a safety manager for a offshore drilling company. I'm at retirement age but am re-tiring with a new set of tires to keep working for the next 11 years or more. In a previous company (where I also worked 11 years) I was a driller in the North Sea where I almost froze to death. My rig was slammed by a monster wave during a storm. All lifeboats were washed away so we had to evacuate by chopper. In Aberdeen I was offered a training job....and that's what I've been doing ever since...combined with a lot of safety management. I was a training instructor in the South of France, Nigeria, West Africa, Lafayette, La, Jackson, Mississippi and on lots of drilling rigs. My wife of 35 years passed away 4 years ago but before going she told me to get remarried and be happy.....so I did. God sent me Jane.....so now I am Tarzan swinging on the vines. I met Linda while she was busy feeding the homeless in downtown Houston. Right there on the street, no building, no tables, just lots of love. She told me she started this a few months ago after seeing lots of food go to waste following a catered lunch. She thought she could just pack it up and distribute it out here in the downtown area. Well it was such a blessing that about 7months ago they started doing it every day. So every day Linda , her daughter Amanda and a few other volunteers cook up a large meal and bring it down to the inter city and distribute it. They simply drive up to this building across from the police department and set the pots on the dock high porch and start serving.
