  There are a lot of things in life that just don't go well together, yet for some reason people always want to try and make it work. This brings me to my topic, two things that I have seen time after time should never be mixed together, because it often ends up bad: GANGS and HIP HOP.  Much like the dope game, the gang life seems to be a thorn in the side of an art form that wont go away. Recently we have seen a few instances where being affiliated with gangs has caused problems for hip hop artist. The most recent example is the Gangsta Disciples openly threatening Rick Ross and MMG. People try to get out the hood through hip hop, then when they do, they want to bring the same shit they was trying to escape, and then make that apart of Hip Hop. Just because you are gang affiliated, that doesn't mean you have to put that on your CD cover, in your lyrics and videos. Truth be told, its a combustible mixture that almost always blows up in someone face. Yeah, so if you heard the previous episode already, you know there was a SYSTEM WIDE FAILURE on BLOG TALK RADIO's servers in the middle of our "ILL or KILL" segment. So, besides pissing us off and making us look unprofessional, it made us end the show early. Tonight we are mixing up our all Indie Playlist with a lil bit of talking in between. We are going to play some banging music of course for "THE SUBWAY: UNDERGROUND RIDE OUT" and let the music do what it does. But in between we will open up the line to talk about CLASSIC ALBUMS of the last 10 years (2002-20012) and how there are so few from artist who broke out during this time frame. I'm doing this because 1) We been off air a few extra days networking at all the BET AWARDS events and I need to get these spins in and 2) I posed this question on Facebook today, and well, lets just say I want to "DISCUSS" it on the air.   When Hip Hop started, it started with the DJ. So here we are, after all the big name artist, producers and labels have exploded the genre to heights and profits unimaginable, the game has finally been turned over to the DJ. I guess when you think about it, that wouldn't be so bad right? If it was a yes this show wouldn't be necessary or interesting.Pay attention class, because I am possibly about to commit career suicide as a Rap artist. Today the DJ's have become infested with the payola mentality. Here is where it all falls apart. The person who's "job description" in hip hop is supposed to be breaking new talent and hot new records, is actually being controlled by the dollar. Now we have DJ albums that have MAJOR budgets, and they are NOT mix tapes, they are ALBUMS. What the HELL is going on? Now I see more PROMO and branding opportunities for DJ's then I do the people who make the music that the DJs play! Make no mistake a hot DJ is a necessity for a dope live show and a packed club, aint no way around
