Believers who remain faithful to Christ, despite what they’re going through, are unusual and powerful and attractive to non-believers. It makes us stand out. Rick Robertson: Adoption Rick continues his series on God the Father by looking at what it means to be adopted into God’s family – to become a part of God’s family. Helen on giving Jesus the authority to work in our lives and through our lives. As believers in Jesus Christ, with the power of the Holy Spirit guiding and empowering us, we have authority given to us – but we need to be careful to use it correctly. Jesus gave us authority to preach the gospel to help the hurting world, not to harm it further. Through prayer, and exercising our spiritual gifts, we can lead others to Jesus. But Mothers are so powerful, having a huge influence on their children, and deserve to be celebrated. Looking at Mark 1:14-20, 2:13-17, Dave talks about how God wants something from us. He wants us to : * Repent and Believe in the gospel* Put the call to follow Jesus before our careers* Put the call to follow Jesus before our families* Put the call to follow Jesus before earning money We are to learn from Jesus, love like Jesus and live like Jesus. Chris follows our series of messages on who Jesus is by starting to look at what Jesus did. Jesus showed us how to surrender to God’s will. We need to put our faith in God’s will, not our own – just like Noah and Moses. Noah built an ark that was 75 feet wide and 450 feet long taking thousands of man hours. It was not easy and let’s not forget he didn’t have a B&Q to use for materials! Moses is called to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and, after raising objection upon objection, finally accepts God’s will. Fast forward to Jesus.
