15/10/2012 Duración: 38minZachary Whitten Rich white debutantes with an appetite for young male prostitues that worked out of opium dens in the back of Asian laundromats?! In Memphis!? Upon a refferal we met a guy named Zachary Whitten. He had just completed a year-long creative writing project that led him down rabbit holes of Memphis history research that surprised and fascinated us. Back in March, Chris McCoy and I sat down with Zachary and learned all sorts of seedy trivia about the Bluff City and his unique literary undertaking. -For all things Zachary Whitten visit http://www.memphisfastfiction.com/ -Get your tickets Chris MCCoy’s documentary about the Antenna club called ANTENNA that premieres November 2nd @ The 15th Annual Indie Memphis Film Festival: http://indiememphis.festivalgenius.com/2012/films/antenna_cscottmccoy_indiememphis2012 -music by M. Nothing To See Here | Season Two | Episode Four
26/09/2012 Duración: 55minRadio Memphis I’ve always been fascinated with radio. The voices that brought you the music were familial and consistent. Radio has changed. Terrestrial radio is on its last leg as people are taking matters into their own hands and broadcasting on the Internet. Radio Memphis is a product of this trend towards self-reliance. Radio Memphis is an Internet radio station run by Ric Chetter who spent years in traditional radio as a programmer and on-air personality at Rock 103. I recently sat down over many beers with Ric and the Radio-Memphis crew David Thorn, Brother Doug, and Dianna Fryer to discuss the ins and outs of Internet radio. 13/09/2012 Duración: 37minDave Cousar, Shawn Zorn, Travis Cantrell, & Kate Mauldin This week’s podcast comes to you straight from the front porch. Crickets, dogs, and secadas threaten to steal the spotlight from my guests Dave Cousar, Shawn Zorn, Travis Cantrell, & Kate Mauldin. Dave Cousar is a hidden gem in this city. He is an amazing guitar player and lyricist that has played in and out of Memphis for decades with the likes of Rufus Thomas, Amy LaVere, Susan Marshall, Al Green, and Lucero to name a few. You can catch him most weeks at the Buccaneer. His shows are not to be missed. http://archer-records.com/index.php/artists/david_cousar Shawn Zorn is a local drummer who has been supporting Amy LaVere for the past year and has been in many Memphis bands. Travis Cantrell is a singer-songwriter from Memphis. As front-man for the indie band Youniverse, he developed a wordy, yet fluid style of his own that can now be seen in his solo gigs around town. He is now playing guitar in Merge Records artist Apex Manor. http://www.merger

30/08/2012 Duración: 36minMike Watt Back in January, I heard that Mike Watt, “the man-in-the-van with a bass in his hand”, was coming to Memphis to record. So, I reached out to him via Twitter and much to my surprise, he responded right away! I asked him to come on the show and he agreed. A few days later, after a few failed attempts to reach him, I’d given up on getting a chance to speak with him. I was home for lunch and saw that he posted photos from Cotton Row Studios here in town. I messaged him immediately and he replied back, “Can you be here in 15 minutes?” Um, fuck yes. I grew up on Mike Watt’s music. As if the Minutemen and his excellent solo work wasn’t enough to seal my life-long fandom, a few years ago he joined The Stooges, one of my favorite bands of all time. Watt was sweetheart and we had a great talk. He has done more projects, or “proj’s” as Watt refers to them, than I can count and has sealed his place in history as one of the most prolific, unique, and respectable bass players alive. Watt was sweetheart and we had

Nothing To See Here | Season Two | Episode One
22/08/2012 Duración: 36minWelcome back! Holy Shit! It has been too long, but here we are. The new site is up and running and I’m finally getting to release this episode that I recorded way back in December! Comedic actor Chris Parnell is a unique talent with too many credits to list: Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock, Archer, Suburgatory…I could go on… I convinced him to stop by the house and sit down with me for an in-depth rundown of his Memphis upbringing and how he got to be where he is now in his life & career. It was two days after Christmas and we were both very sick. He initially only promised a half-hour of his time, but ended up staying for two hours! It was noon and we were both a bit foggy and stopped up, so we swapped the usual drinks for some Robitussin and had a very nice chat. He couldn’t have been cooler. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did recording it and many thanks to Chris! -audio segues by Matthew Qualls & K. Rawlings and music bed for Rock 4 Love promo by Snowglobe & Dead Soldiers-
