Sinopsis

Welcome to the Gateway Church Podcast! We want to give you every opportunity to see that God loves you and has a plan for your life. Its our desire that you know God personally, and we would love to help you develop that relationshipone step at a time.As a growing and expanding spiritual community committed to helping people take a step in the right direction towards reaching their ultimate redemptive potential and purpose, we want to introduce people to God and help them develop a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We desire to reach people with the message that God loves them and that a relationship with Him will transform their lives, enabling them to develop healthy, nurturing relationships with others. We continually endeavour to do this in ways that are both culturally relevant and spiritually dynamic.

  • Belonging Together

    14/05/2017

“I’m fine on my own. I don’t need help. I don’t need anyone. I’ll manage.” These are some of the biggest lies people have been tempted to believe. When life is coasting along just fine, we’re tempted to believe them too. We’re tempted to think that being who we want and getting what we want are more important than who others are and what they need. Somehow we think that “me” is more important than “we”. Somehow we believe that we’re better on our own! “I can’t do this alone. I need help. I need others and they need me.” These are some of the biggest truths we can believe. We connect together. We learn together. We grow together. We reach out together. We serve together. We even worship together. We are better together. At Gateway Church we believe that you have a purpose, and that you can discover it in community… together!

    09/04/2017

Watch as we learn from a local pastor what that looks like in his community in Windsor.

  • Generous Living

    02/04/2017

March 26 - April 2 If you’ve ever worked on finances, you know that your bottom line shows whether you’ve made money or lost it. In life, our bottom line is a deciding factor, an ultimate outcome, the most important part of a situation. Did you know that out of all the G7 countries, Canadian households are in the most debt, such that our total amount of debt is almost the same as our gross domestic product! And when it comes to giving and generosity, many of us think, “I would give more if I had more.” And yet, as one game show winner said this week, “I’m just going to spend most of my winnings.” So, how is your bottom line? Too much debt? Unable to be generous? We’d love to help you with that. At Gateway Church we believe that it’s not about taking your money, but about helping you reduce debt and live generously.

  • God's Will for Me

    19/03/2017

March 5 - 19 If you’ve ever heard what’s called “The Lord’s Prayer”, one part of it says, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” That strongly implies that someone else’s will other than mine is what I’m hoping and praying will be done. That concept may be foreign to many of us. We tend to value what we want, what we desire, and what we hope for… kind of like saying or praying, “MY will be done.” It’s hard to value someone else’s will above our own… even God’s will. But what if God’s will is going to happen anyhow? That begs the question, what is God’s will? There is a lot of hurt, tragedy, violence, pain, difficulty and evil in this world. Maybe you’ve experienced that. So why does God allow that to happen? What is His will for us as a nation, a society, a community? Does He have a plan and purpose for me, for you? We want to help you discover that.

Today's talk features five of our pastors answering questions that were submitted by members of our church family, related to spiritual life/growth, community and current events.

  • Experience It Together

    19/02/2017

February 5 & 12 When we hear the word “community”, we think of our city, neighbourhood, subdivision or street. We assume that community is something we live in. What’s amazing is that we can be socially isolated and disconnected while we are IN our community. That’s because community isn’t something we live in, it’s something we create and experience. It’s when we connect, learn, know, feel, unite, and have meaningful relationship with others that we experience real community. Ironically, our homes, marriages and families can be where we experience the least amount of community. Marriage is experienced in the presence of witnesses. Family is experienced together. Both need to be experienced in community. You were made to experience community! It takes time and effort, and it can be messy and awkward, but we really need it, and it’s amazing when we have it. At Gateway Church we want to help you do just that.

  • Why This waste?

    29/01/2017

January 29 & February 5 Today we have more social networking, more friends and followers, and more connectivity than ever. But somehow we are more socially isolated, disconnected and lonely than ever. We live in a community, but we hardly know anyone in it. Real community involves connecting, learning, knowing, feeling and uniting with others. It’s something we all really need, and it takes time and effort. Have we traded the real thing for the instant, drive-through version? You may have heard stories from the bible about a man named Jesus. In those stories we find that He really cared about people, even the ones others ignore. He met with them, talked with them, ate with them, connected with them, and influenced them in such a way that they were never the same again. That’s what real community is meant to do. And you are meant to experience it! In this 2-part series we look at Jesus in Community. Maybe we can find the real thing.

  • Out There

    15/01/2017

January 8 & 15 Facebook… Twitter… Instagram… LinkedIn… Tumblr… Pinterest… Snapchat. These are some of the most popular "social networking" sites and apps. We’ve got contacts and communities, friends and followers. We like and unlike, friend and unfriend. We share anything in our mind with everyone, but share nothing of our heart with anyone. We are supposedly more connected than ever, but we are actually more lonely, low-esteemed, lacking, left out and lost than ever. In the depths of our heart what we all really desire is true community. We call our neighbourhood a community, but we hardly know anyone in it. We really want community, but we hardly know how to have it. Maybe that’s because true community is about connecting, learning, knowing, feeling, loving, and uniting with others. And that doesn’t just happen, even if we have every social networking account there is. Real community needs to be… created. At Gateway Church we’re trying to learn how to truly create community in our community. Come and lea
