Vikings Postgame Report: Opportunistic Minnesota Vikings Move To 2-0, Defeat The 49ers 23-17 - SF - WK 2
15/09/2024 Duración: 37minWelcome to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the San Francisco 49ers in their home opener at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. The Vikings defense and special teams turned an interception, a blocked punt by C.J. Ham, and a turnover on downs into 17 points to help secure the victory. Sam Darnold hit Justin Jefferson for a 97-yard touchdown pass in the 1st quarter to take a 10-point lead and never looked back. Darnold finished the day 17 of 26 for 268 passing yards, 2 TD's, and 1 INT. Jefferson finished the day with 4 receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown, while Jalen Nailor finished with 3 receptions for 54 yards and the other touchdown. Ty Chandler led the team with 82 yards rushing on the day. Defensively, the Vikings were hungry and got after Brock Purdy all game. Purdy was hit 7 times, sacked 6 times (including twice by Patrick Jones II), and threw an interception to Josh Metellus. Will Reichard was perfect once again and finished the day with three field goals and two extra points.

The Minnesota Vikings won their 2024 regular season opener with a 28-6 victory over the NY Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. Offseason acquisitions were flashing all over the field, including quarterback Sam Darnold who had a great start and was incredibly efficient. Darnold finished the game 19 of 24 for 208 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, an INT, and a 113.2 quarterback rating. New running back Aaron Jones also stood out in his debut, finishing with 94 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson got on the board with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Darnold and finished the game with 59 receiving yards, while Jalen Nailor also hauled in a 21-yard touchdown reception in the 3rd quarter. Defensively, the squad was opportunistic. They tallied 2 INT's, 6 pass deflections, and 5 sacks on Daniel Jones in the game. The Vikings started the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Nick Mullens to WR Trishton Jackson on the opening drive. Mullens finished his afternoon 11-of-21 passing for 135 yards and a TD. Quarterback Jaren Hall came into the game in the 3rd Quarter and finished his day 4-of-5 passing for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air. Both Kene Nwangwu and Myles Gaskin led the team in rushing and finished with 45 yards on the ground. Wide receivers Jeshaun Jones, Malik Knowles, and Trishton Jones scored the Vikings 3 touchdowns through the air. Defensively, Brian Asamoah II, Bo Richter, and Lewis Cine recorded sacks in the game. Safety Lewis Cine, cornerback Cobi Francis, and cornerback Dwight McGlothern also got on the stats sheet by notching interceptions. 10/08/2024 Duración: 28minWelcome to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Las Vegas Raiders at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday night in week 1 of the 2024 preseason. The Vikings received the opening kick and started the game with quarterback Sam Darnold under center for the first drive of the game. Darnold went 4-for-8 for 59 passing yards before heading to the sidelines. Vikings rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy came in and played for almost a half of the Vikings total offensive game time. He finished his debut 11-of-17 passing for 188 yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and an interception. The interception happened early in the game for him, but he finished strong, throwing touchdowns to both Trishton Jackson and Trent Sherfield Sr. Trishton had the high receiving yardage for the game with 4 receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown.
